The article states the dog belonged to his girlfriend, and what part of "JONATHAN and his family did everything in their power to make this dog part of their family" do YOU not understand? He clearly had a lot of interaction with the animal, and even if not his responsibility, he could have encouraged the girlfriend to put the dog down. Actually, sadly, the statistics are such that we are safer now than 20 years ago. The difference is that 20 years ago we didn't have the media to sensationalize everything.
