What happened to the new trash cans?
I just got my 2nd can delivered. WOW! 192 gallons of refuse possibilities. (Tuesday | post #65)
Luke 1:68-79 68 "Let us praise the Lord, the God of Israel! He has come to the help of his people and has set them free. 69 He has provided for us a mighty Savior, a descendant of his servant David. 70 He promised through his holy prophets long ago 71 that he would save us from our enemies, from the power of all those who hate us. 72 He said he would show mercy to our ancestors and remember his sacred covenant. 73 With a solemn oath to our ancestor Abraham he promised to rescue us from our enemies and allow us to serve him without fear, 75 so that we might be holy and righteous before him all the days of our life. 76 "You, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High God. You will go ahead of the Lord to prepare his road for him, 77 to tell his people that they will be saved by having their sins forgiven. 78 Our God is merciful and tender. He will cause the bright dawn of salvation to rise on us 79 and to shine from heaven on all those who live in the dark shadow of death, to guide our steps into the path of peace." Luminaria sale benefits food pantries :: The SouthtownStar ::
Got my 2 kits tonight. Thanks to ESDA for helping light up the area. God bless the Luminaria volunteers and the work they do. Merry Christmas. (Saturday Dec 19 | post #10)
I fail to see how this represents a bias on the part of the 'Blue Team'. This activity was between 10pm and midnight/1am. Is 'Blue Team' obligated to monitor Topix 24/7? Personally, I saw the posts just moments after they began and monitored them until I felt it was safe for my family if I went to bed. Because I live north of 147th, it really had no immediate impact on me so I stayed out of the conversation. I think you are reaching for things to make an issue out of. (Saturday Dec 19 | post #8)
Why would I pull a poll that had almost 70% of the respondents voting in my favor? (Wednesday Dec 16 | post #2)

So are we in agreement on the state of government and politics in 2009? (Sunday Dec 13 | post #70)
Urban and I had a nice conversation last week and we both decided that we are happy in our current positions. I wish the best of luck to Brian Kelly and congratulations to Mark Ingram - Roll Tide!! (Sunday Dec 13 | post #69)
If you are going to quote me please do not put emphasis where I did not [i.e. capital letter]. I love this country. I just feel that it has become something much different than our founding fathers had envisioned. Politicians who serve for 30, 40, or 50 years...needing millions to run for congress...family dynasties passing seats from one generation to the next...etc...and what do we get? High taxes, massive debt, crumbling infrastructure, etc... I believe to process has great potential, but the abuses most end. This is why I am involved in local government and will continue to be. (Saturday Dec 12 | post #62)
That's an interesting idea. Maybe I should think about that. (Saturday Dec 12 | post #61)
Merry Christmas to you too. Rest assured that since I was passed on for the Head Coach position at Notre Dame, I will remain in my current role as Topix editor. (Saturday Dec 12 | post #60)
While I am a big fan of freedom of speech, I must state that you are crossing the line when you are threatening to remove people's posts. So you want to play Editor. Ha Ha. Many people rely on this page to keep up on current events and you are not going to ruin that. I suggest you grow up and stop the baby games. (Friday Dec 11 | post #56)
What happened to the new trash cans?
Most of the village South of 147th should now have their toters. Delivery to homes North of 147th will begin this week and should be done by the end of next week. So I am told. (Thursday Dec 10 | post #23)
What happened to the new trash cans?
The mayor received notification from Allied waste just before Thanksgiving that Allied would be providing these new cans. These cans [or toters as Allied calls them] work with the lift system on the new trucks. It is supposed to be safer and more time efficient for the driver. Anyone who currently rents a toter from Allied will no longer be billed for that toter as of January 1st. Anyone who needs additional toters or recycling toters can get them from Allied for a nominal fee. Additionally, residents should note that garbage rates will be going up on January 1st. This increase is not related to the toters, but rather is an increase negotiated in the contract signed several years ago by the former administration. (Thursday Dec 10 | post #22)
Midlothian is a fantastic town. Many families have lived here for generations. This web site is dedicated to all the hard working men and women of this great town who want honest news and the inside scoop on what's happening. The local papers don't always have the best coverage of Midlothian news. With Topix.net that will forever change.
