Gun Laws - Chambersburg, PA

Back to the gun talk; A gathering at Easton's Centre Square echoed rallies across America on Thursday in a White House-backed drive for tougher gun laws as the U.S. Senate prepares to vote on President Barack Obama's gun-control agenda. Easton Mayor Sal Panto Jr. called on Congress to enact universal background checks, a ban on high-capacity magazines, and a comprehensive ban on assault weapons. "Newtown was conducted with a weapon of war," Panto said of the AR-15 semiautomatic rifle 20-year-old Adam Lanza used to kill 20 children and six adults Dec. 14 in a Connecticut elementary school. The event in Easton was among 140 rallies in 29 states to pressure senators who are undecided on or opposed to gun-control legislation. It drew about 50 people. The Senate is scheduled to begin debating reform measures April 8, when lawmakers return to Washington after a two-week spring recess. http://www.mcall.c om/news/breaking/m c-pa-gun-rally-eas ton-mayor-20130328 ,0,7104444.story  (Mar 31, 2013 | post #2406)

Who do you support for Governor in Pennsylvania in 2010?

First Lady Bill Clinton just rolls off the tongue; If the 2016 presidential election were held today, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would win Florida if she were to run against Gov. Jeb Bush or U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll. Clinton has double-digit leads over Bush and Rubio in an early look at the 2016 presidential election, the poll states. Clinton leads Bush 51 40 percent and bested Sen. Rubio 52 41 percent in a poll of registered Florida voters. http://www.wptv.co m/dpp/news/politic al/hillary-clinton -2016-quinnipiac-u niversity-poll-cli nton-would-win-fla -over-jeb-bush-mar co-rubio  (Mar 22, 2013 | post #48491)

A vast majority of American voters favor expanded background checks for all gun buyers, according to a new poll. A national Quinnipiac University survey released Thursday found that 88 percent of voters support requiring background checks, while just 10 percent oppose them. Voters with guns in their homes also support the checks by a margin of 85 percent to 13 percent, the survey found. The Quinnipiac poll also found that voters support a nationwide ban on the sale of assault weapons by a margin of 54 percent to 41 percent, and back a nationwide ban on the sale of ammunition magazines with more than 10 rounds by 54 percent to 42 percent. http://www.newsmax .com/US/quinnipiac -guns-background-c hecks/2013/03/07/i d/493603  (Mar 22, 2013 | post #2175)

Best Dining In Chambersburg, Part three

Hey Ronald, I had me a McDonalds Sweet Chili Chicken wrap on Wednesday, it made for a pretty good meal. Only 360 calories, 9 grams of fat, the sodium is high at 1030 mg. The frozen strawberry lemonade was delicious. My first visit to a McDonalds in more than 2 years.  (Mar 22, 2013 | post #791)

On a marine base; The first sign of trouble came in a call late Thursday. There was a shooting at a Virginia Marine base, and the suspect was holed up in a room in the barracks. Using a public address system, police announced a lockdown at Marine Corps Base Quantico and surrounded the building where the suspect was barricaded. They ordered everyone to stay in their homes, doors locked. After the standoff ended hours later, three people lay dead, including the suspect, who had a self-inflicted wound. The base became a crime scene, as authorities lifted the lockdown and searched for answers. http://www.cnn.com /2013/03/22/us/vir ginia-quantico-sho oting/index.html  (Mar 22, 2013 | post #2173)

Who do you support for Governor in Pennsylvania in 2010?

Pennsylvania has the nations highest paid Governor; Apparently, it is better to be governor of Pennsylvania than any other state, if salary is any indication. Two different surveys have found that the Pennsylvania governor's salary was the nation's highest in 2012, beating out states with higher populations and higher average incomes. It is even higher this year because of a 1995 state law that delivers annual pay raises tied to inflation for top executive branch officials, lawmakers and judges in Pennsylvania. http://www.pennliv e.com/midstate/ind ex.ssf/2013/03/tom _corbett_is_nation s_highest.html#inc art_most-comments  (Mar 21, 2013 | post #48462)

What happened to Kellan Reaver?

I thought "Really" was also Dan The Man?! At least that's what the insane person who post as Wolfgang claims. Funny thing is, every Wolfgang post is responding to or about Dan the Man, there must be some fanatic obsession.  (Mar 11, 2013 | post #12)

Woman who hurt ACORN speaks at Franklin County Republican...

The suit should have been a class action suit that covered each and every ACORN employee who lost their job when funding was cut due to the lies put forth by O'keefe and Breitbart.  (Mar 11, 2013 | post #78)
