All of this fiasco could have easily been prevented if Decherd had stayed out of it. It was the business of Franklin County and Franklin County only. Winchester and Cowan acted correctly, and even Monteagle,imagine going outside the county with an annexation request!! In summary, "spot annexing" in this particular situation only benefited the property owners. The Greenhaw residents were not considered, they should have had the "vote" also!! So glad the folks in Greenhaw are getting a reprieve. I was glad to hear the ruling made by Judge Smith, he is a good man and rules fairly. Decherd better wake up and get some legal action started against some of their officials or their taxes will definitely go out of site to pay legal fees and court cost over the next several years. Two people deciding the fate of the Greenhaw community is not going to have a lot of favor in the courts!!! (Jun 14, 2012 | post #13)
Haz-Mat abatement and disposal is serious stuff, if you have any positive info you need to discuss it with the EPA. After all the lead paint that was water blasted off the downtown buildings and allowed to drain into Tims Ford Lake, nothing surprises me!! (Jun 10, 2012 | post #2)

Inequality in the good old USA is mainly due to lack of initiative by most of those complaining. They are on the short end of the stick by their own choice. Equal opportunity is a fact and minorities have a better shot than most and just lack initiative to succeed.
