Review: ACS Assessment & Treatment - Charlene Kushler PHD

Well, I can tell everyone reading these that I know 3 of my girlfriends alone that have all made seperate and some multiple posts on this forum. So it can't all be from one poster. We all witnessed the above mentioned behavior seperately and later discussed it. Anyway, after hearing what other concerned parents were saying in Dr. Kushler's waiting room, it seems alot of people are experiening the same issues with her. I know my daughter is much happier and healthier since we switched therapists. She was so confused while going there. Dr. Kushler would tell her one thing and the next visit she would say and do something totally different. She definately abused her power the court granted her and made threats, to both me and my ex. My daughter got to where she dreaded going. Contrary to other posts, I did not "lose" anything nor did Kushler "side" with the other party involved here. I suppose I should be happy because of all the horror stories I've heard about her. We didn't like her behavior toward our daughter, her forgetful and confused manner and she upset our child more than anything. I suppose if my main concern was "winning " something, I would have stayed no matter what. It sounds like the "positive poster" is the same person over and over again, who seems more concerned with "winning " something than the child's feelings or well being. I believe one of the previous postings even eluded to the fact that this person wasn't even a patient nor had a child involved in a case! If that is correct than the person from Detroit is a little creepy and maybe needs therapy of their own.. Just saying if someone other than my ex spouse was that concerned with my daughter, I'd be looking into restraining orders or something. Very Creepy. Anyway, our daughter's well being was our #1 concern and the enviornment that this counsellor placed her in was not appropriate. We changed therapists to another specialist in Brighton and have been so relieved and happy that we did. Our little girl doesn't cry everytime we have to go see her new Dr. We agree that therapy is helping so much now to ease her concerns and stresses where before, her Kushler sessions only raised her anixety and consequently ours too. My friends horror stories were ridiculous behavior for any therapist, let alone someone working with children. I am thankful our bad experiences were stopped fairly quickly. Get someone else.
