Is Obama giving federal agencies a right they already have?

I always thought Obama was a bit of hot air and never really understood the allure. Of course he is still better than his predecessor but that is not saying much.  (Wednesday Jun 17 | post #3)

Bill Maher to Obama: This is not what I voted for! - Lez Get Real

Loved it! The end line is perfect. Although I believe he is better than the alternative, I hope people put down their Kool-Aids and start noticing what is really happening.  (Sunday Jun 14 | post #3)

Ban all religions?

If you ban religion you only ban invisible friends for adults.  (Jun 6, 2009 | post #51)

Ban all religions?

You idiot. I do not have the same marriage rights as you do because of religion, that includes hospital visitation for my loved ones. I am not guaranteed equal access to housing or employment in all the states. Are you really this ignorant of the damage that religion does to peoples rights? Or are you just pretending in attempt to make a FALSE political point you liar!  (Jun 6, 2009 | post #50)

Bans on gay marriage lead to rise in HIV infections

Here's a perfect line from the study: "Intolerance is deadly," Mialon said. "Bans on gay marriage codify intolerance, causing more gay people to shift to underground sexual behaviors that carry more risk."  (Jun 6, 2009 | post #6)

Bans on gay marriage lead to rise in HIV infections

WELL DUH! If peoples relationships are not honored and accepted, supported financially as hetero marriages are they are less likely to last. Let alone the weight of discrimination and bigotry pushes one to feel less than and therefore less likely to seek out healthy relationships. At the extreme being in the closet or on the down low works against healthy relationships and safe behavior.  (Jun 6, 2009 | post #5)

Who Will Run in 2012?

Tim Pawlenty has crashed the Minnesota budget almost every year in office because he won't deal with revenue shortfalls. He placed an idiot in the lead in transportation and a bridge fell. He's borrowed money to basic maintenance to our roads. His political ambitions have been horrible for the state. If it weren't for some congressional and citizen (ballot amendment)overides the state of Minnesota would truly be in a horrible state. He even vetoed anti-bullying legislation.  (Jun 4, 2009 | post #485)

Ban all religions?

While I don't support a full ban perhaps we could start with some reforms: Religions can not teach a creation story that involves a supernatural being. All religions must give up the idea of Armageddon or "judgment day" that precludes the people of the earth being held responsible for the health of the planet. All churches must refrain from political actions and statements. Religions can no longer substitute prayer and talking with a priest as mental health care. Religions and representatives of the church can not speak to issues to which they are not expert like sexuality... Then religion might be acceptable.  (Jun 4, 2009 | post #39)
