Rep. Luis Gutierrez, Ill.-D This is one of the names from the article. His name, I'll bet he classifies himself as a Hispanic/Latino. Their idea of immigration reform is opening the doors further. This is flat treason! The old ways of American immigration policy aren't that far gone folks, the government just needs to be reminded about it. I intend to beat this subject into the ground UNTIL immigration policy is corrected. No way the WWII generation of Americans would have stood for this kind of treason. If amnesty is going to be granted, these people should be able to show a working knowledge of the English language. After all, it is our nations tongue. We are an English speaking nation. Always have been and always will be. It has always been a requirement for all previous immigrant populations to do this. I'm just saying, was not everyone who was educated here in America taught how we all became its citizens? I know I was told by one aunt the stories her great-grandmother told her about coming west on covered wagons when she was very little. How about Ellis island? How about every Italian family who had a grandmother or grandfather who spoke only Italian? How hard it was for their them and their family to come to this nation that only spoke English? All of us whose families made those sacrifices, and sent their sons to this nations wars, we should be greatly offended by this terrible policy on the current immigration.  (Friday Nov 6 | post #50)

Mexico's Take Over Of California: Complete By 2014?

How does one come to believe the way one does? Conditioning. This whole mess has just made me realize something. Spanierds and anyone who calls themselves Hispanic/Latino, I'm starting to think they have learned a lesson from a certain holy people. Calling yourselves a "special " word that differentiates you and your family from the countries that you move to. Sets you apart from the rest of its nations citizens. Carefully chosen words that somehow are politically correct as they do not put you as a member or citizen of another nation, you are just someone from a certain part of the world. And you deserve special consideration. Truth: Spain did explore most of the New World. Did they take over North America? Part of, yes they did. At one point from northern California to the Gulf of Mexico, much land was owned by Mexico. Then a dictatorship ruined that country. It's people joined those from our country and fought against Santa Anna, and won their freedom. They were given a choice, stay on this side of the border and become Americans, or proclaim their desire to remain Mexican nationals. I just had a thought. I wonder how important it is in Spanish and Portugese speaking nations for the words Hispanic and Latino to be used? I'll bet these words only get pulled out when being used in other languages, say English. Traditional Americans do not call themselves anything but Americans. These people need to stop "SEPARATING " themselves with these words Hispanic/Latino. America's immigration policy always has been and always will be that you move here, learn the language of the land (English) give up your former nations tongue, and become an American.  (Friday Nov 6 | post #23056)

89% yes, 10% no as of time of this post. This issue is even uniting blacks and whites here in Oregon. Either one of us can understand the damn jibberish coming out of their mouths, and they get bolder and bolder out in public every day. Wanted to post something in here from another weak thread that I had soo much fun writing I thought to share it in this thread as well. "If they won't learn English, they gotta go. Get that goddamn Spanish channel of my American TV as well, I don't understand it, my kids don't understand it, and what the hell is up with their TV shows anyways? Seems like except for the--entertainment tonite-like show, all of the other shows are just the same. Here's the set: We need 1-4 young females walking around or dancing in their bosom-heaved blouses and short kilt-like skirts, and ofc there needs to be some lame-ass polka sounding band playing in the background with a tuba, a guitar or 2, and a trumpet. Now that that is set up for ya, enter the following: one old bitching woman with her tongue literally dancing from out her mouth with a distorted whiplash effect, a regular looking spanish guy with either a really overgrown moustache or sombrero, then we have the old man in makeup like a clown, and OMFG, the uniformed (obviously American)sheriff with the fake-ass ridiculously blonde wig, and he seems to be arguing in between brief interludes from the band where everyone starts dancing again, and everyone yells "Epa, Epa Ondele, Arriba!" with the old woman while he is pointing to the jail cells where we have an assortment of humble-looking imprisoned Mexican souls. It's about too many spanish immigrants not learning this country's immigration rules and following them. 99% of the world is unamerican. The shot heard 'round the world remember? What that means is that MOST don't understand the foundation that this country was laid upon. Some of us however do read the history books and use them to try and protect the ideals that are just barely holding on. Also we do not need to get any of our nation's validation from comparing it to other nations. Europe's situation is quite different than America's. How it is different mainly is that Europe has not been successfully conquered by any one nation in recent times. America conquered and took control of the lands she owns now and had everyone learn one language, the one that was in use by the majority of the people living in it. Vote %'s as of the time of this post, slipping somewhat, but I expect once the initial word gets done with its run out in the spanish speaking community, it will steadily rise above 80% again.  (Monday Nov 2 | post #12)
