They're bothering me more than usual right now because this stupid flu or whatever it is, continues to linger! I was starting to get my appetite back and now I have chest congestion. If you look closely, you can see the image of that Pope with his hands folded around the cross and his head bent toward his hands. They should be hailed as heroes, not having charges brought against them. What's going to happen when Osama Bin Laden is captured.....IF they ever find the coward. That is not the reason priests stay unmarried. It has something to do with the early church or the Bible. God instituted sex, it's holy, it was created in Adam and Eve. I don't know about Paul ever being married, as it states in I Corinthians 7 verse 8: "Now to the unmarried and the widows I say, 'it is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am......'" (old NIV version). The rest of that into verse 9 speaks of it being better to marry than to burn with passion. You would think that in the 21st century, the Catholic church would change a few things. And yes, I realize other faiths have pedophiles in them too. (20 hrs ago | post #15)

I have no idea where the Catholic church gets it that priests have to remain celibate! If they got it from the Bible, they're way off wrong....Peter was married! Apparently Paul was not though he chose it that way.....all written in the Bible verses. God created the sex drive when He created Adam, it's a God-given thing, so this celibacy stuff needs to go out the back door and soon. Perhaps the next Pope will end that rule and the priests can get married and most of this sexual abuse will stop.......hopeful ly. The Protestant pastors are married with families, so why not the Catholic priests? It's time for change...long ago! (Yesterday | post #5)
