I agree with you. For example, one only needs to look at Lev 18:22 in the context of Lev 18:21 to realize the passage is about Canaanite ritual. The original text was written entirely with Hebrew characters. There was no punctuation; all script ran continuously. What's more, chapter and verse did not exit until the 16th century Bible. Chapter and verse helps locate a passage but when misused, renders a passage meaningless.  (Sunday Nov 15 | post #2233)

I never said it was in the Bible. For your information, the Bible is but a selection of stories from various oral and verbal traditions. It is a matter of our Constitutional rights under the 1st and 14th amendments. This matter will eventually be settled in the courts. and Lev. 18:21 speaks of sacrificing your children to the Canaanite God Moloch. For your information, these passages in Hebrew Scripture connected. There is no punctuation, chapter and verse. Everything is run together which means these thoughts are connected to each other. If we connect them as originally written, we have a much different picture. We have a passage referring to Canaanite ritual involving sex. Modern Christianity makes this mistake by taking these passages out of context.  (Sunday Nov 15 | post #113)

May I remind you that adultery is one of the more serious sins; it is also a commandment. According to the Gospels, divorce followed by marriage causes adultery. Furthermore, Old Testament law requires the stoning to death of all those caught in the act of adultery. I had to think about that. Does a person in the ex-gay denial club feel they are making a choice or not? It seems most agree with your position. They are struggling with their homosexuality and are choosing to suppress who they are. They go to great lengths doing the dance. I compare it to a person who becomes a Catholic priest but lacks a true calling to celibacy. Such a person becomes bitter and it shows in their work.  (Sunday Nov 15 | post #1533)
