Whatever gender you happen to be, there is someone of the same gender looking at you and thinking how you might be in bed. They may even be fantasizing about you! It doesn't matter if you're clothed or naked. Let's say you're a man. Why would you care if that cute store clerk were checking you out? (Unless you happened to be checking him out, too.) Now, what difference would it make if later that day you went to the gym, and saw the same store clerk checking you out in the shower? Now, get this in your head. Gays not allowed more lasting bonds
The only two issues you have brought up here that are not subject to your bigotted and small mentality are legal issues. Humans cannot marry animals for the simple reason that animals cannot enter into a legal contract. When you can get Fluffy away from your yarn balls, get her to vocalize the words "I do" and demonstrate that she knows what those words mean, then by all means, marry your pussy, oops, cat. As far as polygamy is concerned, there are legal issues that are almost insurmountable when three people try to claim kinship under the umbrella known as marriage. If proponents of polygamy can come up with reasonable solutions to these issues, then there IS no reason why polygamy should not be de-criminalized, and those marriages recognized as well. If it was good enough for Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, why isn't it good for America? You people are, after all, insisting that America be ruled by the tenets in the Bible. So, bestiality is illegal, and humans cannot marry animals because animals cannot give informed consent. Polygamy is still illegal because the legal problems surrounding it are as yet unsurmountable. Incest between close blood kin has been scientifically proven to enhance the possibility of severe mental and physical disabilities in the children. What else? Oh yes, that good old sodomy. Sodomy means ANY sex that is not a penis entering a vagina. Plenty of straight people veer from the missionary position; sodomy and homosexuality are hardly synonymous. No actually, gay means that you are attracted to people of the same sex as you. It has nothing to do with HOW you choose to have sex, and everything to do with the gender to WHOM you are attracted. Just because YOU fantasize about anal sex doesn't mean every homosexual does. And don't forget lesbians, they're homosexual too. I don't imagine that there are too many lesbians that engage in anal sex. My husband and I were married in California, and that state, plus Massechusetts and New York, recognize our status as "married. " I don't know to what benefits and rights couples in these states are entitled, according to the particular state. The federal government has not yet recognized marriages between people of the same sex, so we still do not have access to the over 1,000 *federal* rights, benefits, and responsibilies that are accorded to married couples by the United States Government. What in Moses' name are you talking about? Treating a man as a woman? That IS forbidden in Leviticus. I would no more treat my husband as a woman than I would treat my dog as a parakeet. Of course sexes are not interchangeable. But substituting two men for a man and a woman in a marriage scenario illustrates perfectly that there is no difference in their relationship, not on a sexual level, but on a human level. A couple loves each other and plans for their family and their future. Are you saying that this is only accomplished by one man and one woman, and that two men or two women can't accomplish the same? And theocracies don't work really well either. That is why we have FREEDOM of religion, and have the right to worship as we please or not worship at all. And the government CANNOT make laws based solely on a holy book, of ANY religion. To do so would be to violate the letter AND the spirit of the First Amendment. So our government cannot say "homosexualit y is banned in the Bible, and for that reason we will ban homosexuality ".
