Gay-rights bill passes Ohio House
That argument failed in the Supreme Court back in the sixties. Why do you think it would succeed now? (46 min ago | post #825)
Gay-rights bill passes Ohio House
What "special " rules are you talking about? YOU can marry the person of your choice, and so can every other heterosexual person in the country, and have that marriage be recognized not only in the state you married, but in every other state, and by the federal governments, which grants you rights, privileges, benefits and responsibilities. Gay people can't do this, can't benefit from those 1,300 rights and privileges. So WHO is getting "special " treatment. Not those of us who have been DENIED that special treatment, that's for sure. Thanks! And the alphabet soup is the words "latin dancer" without the benefit of Vanna White. I used to be a competition ballroom dancer. You can call me Joel, though. It's much easier to type, and it's my name... (55 min ago | post #1788)

Of course friends can love each other. But it is not customary for two friends in love to strip naked, embrace each other and have an orgasm. Have you read the story in the original Hebrew? Because in the original language, it is quite clear that David and Jonathan shared a loving sexual relationship, it is quite clear that they performed all of the necessary rites for marriage, and it is quite clear that G-d consecrated their union. The version that YOU read is the twisted one. You really should stick to the original, if you're going to argue Bible, sweetie. And you clearly are unknowledgeable about sexual orientations and what they mean. A sexual orientation is not an indication of who you have sex with, but to whom you are ATTRACTED. If you have the capacity to be attracted to both men and women, you are bi-sexual, even if you are a man who is only having sex with women. If you are a woman that is attracted exclusively to other women, even if you remain celibate, you are a lesbian. Get it? (1 hr ago | post #1787)

Why would G-d forbid the inhabitants of Sodom to marry? (That's what "sodomite " means, you pervert, an inhabitant of Sodom.) And where in the Bible does G-d forbid homosexuals to marry? I want chapter and verse, please. And please remember, I'm Jewish, not Christian, so that chapter and verse had better come from the Old Testament. (1 hr ago | post #22745)

Excuse me, but I don't have a personal relationship with the President. I have never met him, nor he me. I DO know the man I love and live with though, and we DO have a relationship, and WE choose to define that relationship as a marriage. That decision is ours and ours alone. (1 hr ago | post #22744)
Homosexuality against natural law
Wow! You got one thing right! We DO have desires. The desire for sex and intimacy. And G-d GAVE us those desires! One does not choose one's desires. (2 hrs ago | post #1620)

I dont' see the word "marriage " there, and I also don't see any condemnation of two men or two women being together either. I certainly DO see a proscription against divorce. Are you divorced? (2 hrs ago | post #22737)

Your mistake lies in your perception. It is not Venus who is "pretending " to have a wife, as only she and her significant other can define their own relationship. It is you who are "pretending " that she doesn't have a wife; you have neither the authority nor the right to define or describe someone else's relationship. By the same token that you consider Venus' wife to be "pretend, " I can call yours pretend as well. You were not married under a Chuppa by an ordained Rabbi in the presence of the Holy Torah, were you? Well then, according to MY faith, you are not married, you are only pretending. There is no country on earth in which a human can marry an animal and have that marriage recognized by the government. Can you provide evidence that the government recognized their marriage? And does it include information as to HOW the dog gave consent? (4 hrs ago | post #5097)
Why Gay Marriage Is Such A Big Deal
When you say "Christianity ", do you mean Protestant? Lutheran? Baptist? Presbyterian? Methodist? Southern Baptist? Catholic? Mormon? Our perception of G-d changes all the time, and that is because we invented G-d. (5 hrs ago | post #1629)
Osteen: Gays Aren't "God's Best"
Actually, this is a representative republic, not a democracy. And there are laws in place to ensure that your religious morals are NOT voted into law, for the simple reason that there are people of other faiths in this country who are in the minority, and they have the freedom to believe as they wish as well. You still don't get it, do you? You can't force your religious beliefs or your religious morality onto other people. You cannot legislate from the pulpit. Your freedom of religion ends with your home and your church. Have you read the First Amendment yet? (5 hrs ago | post #1334)

Defeat In Maine A Harsh Blow To Gay-marriage Drive
I believe there is a woman in India who married a turtle, or a dolphin. She is free to believe that she is married to the animal, as long as no one is harmed, but the Indian government certainly doesn't recognize her marriage. You seem to want the government to recognize only marriages performed in YOUR church, which dissallows gay people from marrying. But that simply won't happen. You seem to want to force YOUR religion on the other citizens of this country. That simply won't happen. You want to force YOUR definition of "family" on people that are no relation to you at all. That won't happen either. (6 hrs ago | post #5083)

I didn't read the article, but I lived in Japan for 17 years, and I am quite certain that this young man staged a mock marriage; I'm also quite certain that the Japanese government recognizes marriage as a contract and recognizes that a video game cannot enter into a contract. The young man is free to call his relationship with a video game a "marriage " and take it on a honeymoon to Guam (how trite!), but I seriously doubt that the government is going to pay the man's pension or social security to a video game, nor will the government afford him health care for his video game. And YOUR marriage has changed because a silly young Japanese man chose to partake in a publicity stunt? So, it is an example of nothing. (6 hrs ago | post #5079)
