Pepperell residents weigh visions for former paper mill
I'm a renter in Pepperell, so I really don't have a say, but my opinion is, convert it to a museum, with a cafe, and recreation center. This will serve the public, as well as the residents for everyone to enjoy. Pepperell has thousand of visitor pass through everyday. People travel to this area to take advantage of the trails, biking, wildlife and so forth. Capitalize on this, and this will bring the much needed revenue that Pepperell needs. Lowell killer to try for 3rd trial
This guy killed three children and seriously wounded the fourth. These children and their mother endured horror that most of us will never see in our lifetime. Why is this man allowed two appeals to the SJC, when most people only get one? Someone is getting paid off!!! Three young children slaughtered, with an eye witness who herself was seriously injured was enough to convict him, and sure he should get at least one appeal, but two? Why is this man allowed all these appeals and rights, when three small children are dead and have no rights? To the prosecution, you’ve done a good job. Keep fighting for this family. To the defense of this **** , you should be ashamed of yourselves for putting this family through this entire additional trauma that isn’t needed. This man killed these children. Stop using technicalities to get this man set free or to have his sentence reduced. This man is right where he belongs, behind bars. I hope your appeals for this man fail. How you can sleep at night is beyond me. I'm so sorry to the family that survived, that some attorney has nothing better to do, then continually bring up the past, fighting for rights of this man, that he lost the night he killed your family. I will be praying that his appeal fails, and that he doesn’t get a second chance. He certainly doesn’t deserve one. My heart and prayers go out to you. May you someday find peace and rest for the horror you’ve endure. May Jesus bless you and keep you safe. All my love, Lowell Acre Girl. (Nov 23, 2009 | post #1)

Lottery: Lowell store owner cheated customers of winnings
When ever it comes to money, there will always be problems. People will always try to outsmart other people to get money. The lottery will never be a legitimate business operation. Just look at the statistics. Lotteries take in way more than they pay out. It's no surprise that customers are getting scammed when they ask the clerk to check and see if they have a winner. If you tried to do that at a casino, you'd be arrested. If the lottery isn't a scam, then why does the lottery take in more than what it pays out? The same thing with casinos. Look at Las Vegas. It's didn't get to be as big as it is, by paying people. Come on people. You are wasting your money on a chance. That chance will cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars for only a chance to win. You could play your entire life and never win. That's the odds. Wishing and praying for millions will not work. If God intended you to be rich, you would have been born rich. Newsflash, "YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR YOUR MONEY". Wait till Massachusetts starts the casinos here. You'll see an up rise in violence, murder, theft, and people spending their whole paycheck for a chance. Talk about inviting chaos. Families will suffer.. but who give a hoot!!! Yeah.. we need a frigging casino in Massachusetts, like we need other gambling devices, so all the already corrupt politicians and their goons can receive more money, by stealing from the people. Sure... it's a great idea. Yeah right. (Nov 1, 2009 | post #22)

In 30 years, Cambodian immigrants have redefined city's mosaic
Hello Life long Lowell Resident, my race is White, Female, French Canadian, Jewish, And Scottish. My grandparents and parents were born in Lowell, Massachusetts and worked in the Lowell Mills. I've lived in Lowell my whole life, until the age of 31, when I moved out to Pepperell. When I come to Lowell, I am so proud. I see all the accomplishments that the city has made. It doesn't matter my ethnicity or background. We all have made or are in the process of making Lowell, Massachusetts the diverse, cultural, safe city it is. - Lowell Acre Girl (Oct 25, 2009 | post #24)
In 30 years, Cambodian immigrants have redefined city's mosaic
In 1980, I was six years old. I was born and raised in the Acre. I remember two Cambodian kids coming into my school and being introduced. They didn't speak English and didn't smile. I could tell they were shy and afraid. We were all curious. We became friends with these kids, even though the language barrier prevented us from verbally communicating. Kick ball, tag, and other games were played to engage with these children who couldn't speak our language. Over the period of the next few years, more and more children came from their country to start their lives over again. Many adults that I knew were complaining that all these immigrates got stuff handed to them, like a free ticket to anything they wanted, now that they were here. Many people don't realize that the Cambodians came here with NOTHING. Stuff wasn't handed to them. Sure they got a little help to get them started, but what these people have done over the years is amazing. They came here, got started and succeed with hard work. Something most Americans that have grown up here, have forgotten about. There the ones that want everything handed to them. The Cambodians are successful because they've worked for it. Look around Lowell and see all the businesses these people have established. They have made Lowell beautiful with their culture, diversity and determination to succeed. I applaud you Robin and Wendy Ley. You have made Lowell a more beautiful place, with you life story and your great coffee and doughnuts. May Jesus Christ continue to bless you. Love, The Lowell Acre Girl. (Oct 25, 2009 | post #12)
