Odierno wants troops in disputed land
The commander is right. American troops should be stationed in the disputed areas, which are parts of Kurdistan but outside Kurdistan Parliament Jurisdiction. Kurds and minorities like Christians and Shiites, in these areas, are under serious threat from terrorist attacks. These terrorists seem some how getting help from authorities outside Kurdistan region. Last year Kurdish forces had to withdraw and leave some disputed areas in Khaneqin to the Iraqi Army. Now this Iraqi Army, which replaced Kurdish forces, made life for Kurds very difficult. Hundreds of Kurdish families have left these areas. In Mosul, the second largest city NW of Iraq, during last local elections those, who openly support terrorists, have taken over local authority. They won election on the platform of fighting Kurds and expelling Americans and Iranians. By ‘Iranians’, they mean ‘Iraqi Shiites’. They excluded Kurds, who won Kurdish and other minority votes, to share local power as constitutionally required. Since they won local election, Kurds, Christians and other minorities like Shiites have become a target of attacks very often. They have been attacked many times with car and truck bombs. These areas are under Kurdish forces but it can not move freely against terrorists because not far away Iraqi Army forces exist, which is believed infiltrated by terrorists and their supporters. The existence of American Army in these areas gives a better mandate and freedom for the Kurdish forces to move against terrorists and protect people from their attacks. At the moment, the Iraqi Army in these areas are more concerned about the existence of Kurdish forces than the threat of terrorists. Kurdish forces can not repeat the same mistake of Khaneqin area. It can not leave people of these areas for the Iraqi Army, which have already proved to be biased against Kurds and infiltrated by terrorists. (Aug 18, 2009 | post #1)
Top Secret about an Iraqi Parliament Member
Once the qeeqo Al-Nujaify the father of qeeqo brothers Ausama Al-Nujaify , a member of Iraqi Parliament, and Athel Al-Nujaify, the governor of Mosul, bought a gun at a bargain price at auction, which is known as Sauq Al-heraj by qeeqoes. He quickly went home to show the gun to the qeeqo his wife. When he entered the house unexpectedly he found his wife was romancing a young Kurd. When his wife saw him she became angry and shouted: “This big mouth is going to shame both of us. He is going to tell every qeeqoes about us.” She told the young Kurd, her lover. He ignored his wife but shouted at the young Kurds and said: “Look at this gun. It cost me 50 dinnars and I am going to use it to kill……” he was interrupted by the young Kurd, who replied: “On me for 55 dinnars.” Means I am willing to buy it back from you for 55 dinnars. This entirely changed the mood of the situation to the mood of auction market. He didn’t believe his luck to make a quick buck so quickly. Without ado he wanted to accept it but at the last moment he became greedy: “Any one pays me 60 Dinnars?” He replied immediately. “On me for 57.5 dinnars.” The young Kurd replied. “It is yours. Congratulation” He replied. 'qeeqo' is a nickname given to to the tribe of Al-Nujaifi because their accent includes 'q' a lot. (Aug 11, 2009 | post #1)

Terror chat rooms: next time ...
Jihad doesn't mean killing innocent people and commiting large scale atrocities like the atrocity of 9/11 against American people and the atrocity of burying alive of 180000 Kurdish women, children and men alive. Jihad means the langauge of peace, compassion and reason. (Aug 9, 2009 | post #2)
