SHAME I am "very" shamed of the associated press, that they would go ahead and release a photo of a mortally wounded marine, over the objections of the marines father! The Secretary of Defense was correct in citing the action of the Associated Press as "appalling. " We know that war is "Hell" however, (seemingly) the press lacks compassion and respect for families of the fallen... Bottom line, the last thing this country can do is respect and enforce those wishes of the family!  (Sep 5, 2009 | post #1)

Veteran Affairs

Dogs helping injured soldiers under gov't program

I am thankful that there are volunteers that are will and trained to help our injured soldiers. However. I feel this program utilizing trained service dogs is a wonderful opportunity and should not be looked down upon as ungratefulness. Animals have a history of helping people with challenges from all types of situations. Most large communities have special service dogs that go to hospital and nursing homes, etc... Listen, If that dog can help Army Spt. Cameron Braggs have an opportunity for a more better life, then I am thankful to God for the soldier's, "little battle buddy".  (Jul 14, 2009 | post #2)
