June 7 Deer Park Kiwanis Circus 2 pm and 4:30 pm

The circus had great attendance Sunday June 7 with plenty of sunshine to light up great circus performers. Thanks to businesses who purchased promotion tickets to donate to school children and to senior citizens. Kiwanis of Deer Park hopes to sponsor this event in 2011. Follow the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus (www.cmcircus.com) at this blogspot: http://mudshowseas on.blogspot.com/  (Jun 15, 2009 | post #2)

Habitat Homeowner Recruitment Meeting

This Monday's Habitat for Humanity's opportunity for the diverse residents in the Deer Park Washington Area who want to own their own home is wonderful. This small community has great services, pedestrian-friendl y access, and fun events. I have told two friends that I would volunteer to help if their applications are accepted. The challenge to plan, purchase, build, and maintain one's own home is an education in itself. The city elected officials continue to debate the merits of the project approved by the city planning department. New businesses in Deer Park have employees wanting to purchase affordable adequate housing which is quieter than the apartments which they are renting.  (Apr 12, 2009 | post #2)

Horizons Deer Park Washington Community Project

Horizons Deer Park Community now has a website: http://deerpark-wa .blogspot.com There are three active commitees: community information, community kiosk, and youth activities. The farmers'market committee is on hold. What would you suggest for a community kiosk? I think we need several: a log-framed deer-enhanced information kiosk along US Hwy 395, an indoor one at City Hall on East Crawford which could be electronic, and another at each of the parks and an internet kiosk.  (Feb 1, 2009 | post #1)
