Jen, went to the new Oaks BJs today! They're open already! I went this morning (Monday) at about 9:30am. There were only about 5 other people there. It was great! (Monday Nov 9 | post #5)
You can use this pass: http://www.bjs.com /join/one_day_pass .shtml to get in to shop for one day. If you DO NOT buy the membership you will have %15 added to the price of your purchases. If you decide to by a membership (I think within 7 days) you will have that 15% added to your account. It's in the fine print. I just walked in today and there was a man standing there checking receipts for the people leaving (like they do at Costco) but he didn't ask to see my membership. I think they're happy to have people check it out. BTW, they have a gas station too. Membership price was $2.60 a gallon. Also you can get a 15 month membership (it's usually 12 months) for only $35 (it's usually $45) by going here: http://www.bjs.com /oaks You can get the same deal by calling their membership line 866-820-2585 or by stopping at the Member Services Desk at the store. I did not see anywhere any information about when this deal ends. (Monday Nov 9 | post #9)
I just went this morning (Mon ~9:30am). There were only about 5 other people in the store. Tons of stuff to choose from and the staff were polite and helpful. By the way they take coupons. Glad they're here! (Monday Nov 9 | post #6)

When does the Providence Town Center open?
Bob, yes! Good things are worth waiting for. With this economy I'm glad that these major store did pull out. Hopefully Barnes & Noble will reconsider when they see the number of people shopping at PTC. Thanks Bob! PTC looks great! (Oct 17, 2009 | post #241)
When does the Providence Town Center open?
I know a lot of you were there for the opening but I thought I'd share my first impressions for who haven’t made it there yet: Drink menu for the Pub: http://collegevill e.wegmans.com/PubD rinkMenu.pdf Food menu for the Pub: http://collegevill e.wegmans.com/PubF oodMenu.pdf Other than the Pub they also have a HUGE selection of pre-made or made to order food (sushi, Indian, pasta, pizza etc...). There is tons of seating other than the 'Pub' including the 'Timber Room' with comfy couches and a big screen TV and an 'Alcove' for the kids, which also has a TV with cartoons. Fortunately or unfortunately these two sections are not close together. They have a kid drop off playroom called Wkids (free!) and you can shop or go to the Pub, you just have to stay on the premises. I think they can be there for up to 90 minutes. When we checked it out today it wasn't open yet because the toys hadn't been delivered. We took a peek in and frankly I wasn't that impressed with it. My kids love the Giant Treehouse in Rofo and I'd say that the WKids is half the size of that. Perhaps it will be more impressive with the toys installed. But it's got a TV so my kids will be more than happy to hang out there. :-) The system is like Giant's where they give you a little walkie in case they need to contact you before you return. I was told that they will open Wkids next Sunday when they get the toys in. It will make for a nice mini date night for parents and the kids have fun too! Oh yea, I think kids need to be at least 3 and potty trained but double check that, I could be wrong. I don't know the hours for Wkids but I'm guessing 10pm - 5pm...but I hope I'm wrong and the hours go a little later. They have a HUGE selection beer. You can by individual bottles and/or 6-packs of beer to take to go. You are allowed to purchase 2 six-packs at a time. I checked it out today and the selection is truly amazing. You can buy after 11 on Sundays (I'm not sure about the time on other days). For all the wine drinkers they also have a pretty nice selection of wine too. Just like any other store there are things that are cheaper and things that are more expensive. With all the shopping I've done in the area no store has ever had a monopoly on 'the best prices', Rednor's included. For example they had 5, 12-packs of Coke products for $10 and 1 GALLON of organic milk on sale for $4.99 (regularly $5.89...which beats Target at $5.99) See you there! BTW, I don't work for Wegman's I'm just excited about a new business in the area. I'd like to hear other peoples impressions of the place. Please share! (Oct 11, 2009 | post #223)
I stand corrected...I just called the BJ's membership number (866-820-2585). The Grand Opening is November 21st. There will be a soft opening about a week before. (Oct 6, 2009 | post #3)
I read somewhere Nov. 1. I probably read it on one of the forums here. Also if you go here: http://www.bjs.com /locations/pre/200 .shtml they have a good deal on membership. $10 off annual membership and it's good for 15 months instead of the usual 12. I think you have to take advantage of this before the new store opens. Before the Oaks location opens you can use your membership at other BJ's in the area. (Oct 6, 2009 | post #2)
When does the Providence Town Center open?
I've compared several items that I shop for frequently (milk, cereal etc...) on the Wegman's online shopping list (I picked the Downingtown store b/c the Collegeville Shopping List function isn't available yet). The prices for all the items I looked up were almost all lower than Giant, the others were the same. For example a gallon of organic milk at Wegman's is $5.79. Giant doesn't even sell gallons with half-gallons priced between $3.89 and $4.25. at Giant. (Sep 24, 2009 | post #182)
Apartments across from Trappe Tavern
Local, thanks for the reminder. There are now 3 registered sex offenders in Trappe. You can find a photo, description of car and arrest info here: http://www.pamegan slaw.state.pa.us/ Put in 'Trappe Boro' under Municipality search and '19426' in zip code search if you want Collegeville included. Knowledge is power. (Sep 4, 2009 | post #7)

422 Repairs, Delays Start Tuesday
I wonder if they put any thought into the timing of this project with the opening of the Providence Town Center in October. Ramp closures on weekends? That doesn't sound good. (May 28, 2009 | post #1)
When does the Providence Town Center open?
Very surprised by this from the article above: "For those who are not chosen [for a job at the Collegeville location], all is not lost. Wegmans plans to open a store in Malvern next spring and another in King of Prussia in 2011." (Apr 9, 2009 | post #74)
