Newport News isn't exactly murder city capital of the world. It has its gangs and some violence, but it's definitely not a ghetto. (Jul 18, 2007 | post #2)

It's no joke. I'm just glad they're considering at least making it apply to all drivers in Virginia. This all sounds like a vicious downward spiral to me. (Jul 15, 2007 | post #3)

Caps lock doesn't make your voice any louder. It just makes your post look more foolish. Please tone it down. This is a hot issue with a lot of different opinions and it needn't reach a boiling point. -Mike (Jul 12, 2007 | post #478)
Teen pleads guilty to killing grandparents
woah woah woah Cut it right there, please. There needn't be any more animosity. It was a simple misunderstanding in the first place. Just because someone speaks about Darwin's survival of the fittest theory does not mean they believe everything Darwin said (although you might... I'm not sure). Survival of the fittest is a varid theory today in explaining how some species flourish while others die away. It has nothing to do with creationism versus evolution (although it does play a part). Also, it would help everyone out if you proof-read your post for the sake of clarity. You might end up pissing someone off without the intention. Please end the shouting back and forth and just discuss the topic like humans. Try not to go off topic. Thanks, -Mike (Jul 12, 2007 | post #25)
Should a smoking ban be passed?
If I did I would be better off, but unfortunately I have to rely on other people to tell the person drinking and driving that it's a bad idea to do so. "You've had enough, you're not allowed to drive home" is equal to"please don't smoke." There are a lot of situations where I am unable to get away from smokers. Go do it on your own property and stop degrading the health of nonsmokers. It's a handicap in everything you do. (Jul 9, 2007 | post #312)
Should a smoking ban be passed?
Do you want our government to prohibit drinking and driving? It's the same question in my mind. (Jul 9, 2007 | post #310)
Should a smoking ban be passed?
In communist Russia there wouldn't be rules put in place like this. In some place like Cuba, where it's a dictatorship, there might be. Barbecue pits are run outside last I checked. Even ones attached to restaurants have smoke stacks so as not to make the inside smokey. Smoking establishments are bad for business if there are a lot of them around. If you're the only smoking establishment in town, though, you could make a killing. Bottom line... smoking kills. If you want to kill yourself be my guest, but there's no way in hell you're going to take me down with you. -Mike (Jul 7, 2007 | post #307)
Should a smoking ban be passed?
I don't know about you guys, but I love when it feels like I'm eating old cigarrettes. Cutting the sarcasm, I think a ban in resaurants and bars is the right thing to do. Smoking in the kitchen makes the food taste worse. Smoking in the dining room ruins the food for other guests. Let's not forget the health of the waitstaff, who have to wade through smoke just to serve food. For those that smoke it's just as easy to smoke outside or in your car, so why not enjoy the smoke break and leave the rest of us to work while you're gone. -Mike (Jul 5, 2007 | post #303)
Celebrate the Fourth almost anywhere
Around us there was a lot of wind, enough to prevent many places from launching fireworks for fear of them going into houses, wooded areas, people, etc. It might have been a decision they had to make to wait for the wind to die down. (Jul 5, 2007 | post #4)
