Compared to CO2 (30+% increase in 250 years from man-made sources), long-term average water vapor atmospheric content is steadier so its great contribution to GHG warming doesn't escalate like CO2. Glad you brought up methane, which is in AGW GHG theory. Most deniers have been trying to restrict AGW conversation to only CO2. With Arctic temperatures rising as fast as any other place on Earth, potential great releases of permafrost, clathrate, & hydrate methane are possible. By three studies already, such releases may be occurring. Methane has a 25 times greater ability to absorb infra-red energy than CO2. Fortunately, there is ~ 200 times less methane in the atmosphere than CO2. However, if methane quantities increased 5 times, methane most certainly would be another GHG playing a very prominent role, to the extent that our ability to control GHG's might come to an end. Also, great increases of methane emissions from other sources (other than live biological) outside the Arctic are also possible. (4 hrs ago | post #21)

During a period of low PDO AND La Nina, AND with the sun radiating at 2 parts per 1000 BELOW normal for a LIFETIME event extending for 2 years.......at the same time, Australia went through 2 summers of very high & record day AND early morning temperatures, the normally sopping Northwest U.S. had 5.5 months of little precipitation AND over-warm temperatures setting highest recorded day & early morning temperatures, AND oceans were recorded at their highest temperatures. However, the large majority of our last 15 winters here have been warmer than 50 years ago, especially the early morning temperatures. & never did we have such a wonderful period of warmth & low rainfall as May thru October of this year. It is all true tho. My wife & I do not back down from any one as to our testimony.......mo st certainly NOT to deniers. As to AGW advocates, my wife's & my experience tell you of the mental AND moral depravity that deniers, at least topix deniers, are ready to descend to. If you were an AGW advocate, you still need to be banned. You try to hide behind the deniers, but you are allegedly criminal. As you have read, several AGW deniers who read your posts BEFORE they were removed from topix, disowned & distanced themselves from you. You haven't been on topix long have you. topix, instead of banning threateners, protects threateners by removing their posts. Yes, instead of keeping posts as evidence against threateners for possible criminal cases, topix removes posts, protecting theateners from criminal prosecution. I did hard copy bob burns' alleged threats, but you wouldn't accept that as proof. However, bob burns is proud of his gun death alleged threatening posts & his torture, rape & gun death alleged threats of my wife. So there is an outside chance that he will comment on your post by readily admitting his alleged threats. Twice he has proudly said that I should leave off the word alleged.....becaus e he readily admits to his conduct. Ha Ha.......the number I have to repeat to enter my post is 3077 of NGC 3077 fame (at least to astronomers). It is a galaxy that with modern digital techniques, looks like the galaxy is exploding......... very appropriate! (Saturday | post #1180)
