Employment numbers show improvement for November

blah blah blah. Even in the depression we had a few short months of what look to be a "recovering economy". Do not like anyone from the state, federal reserve, or the current administration tell you things are getting any better. This is just the start of the storm. I hope everyones been saving there money (despite the fact that inflation is already so high that the dollar is almost worthless at the moment). I know knuckle heads who got there masters degrees and where telling me 1-2 years ago how secure there job was and a degree was going to keep them safe. Oh course students in k-12 are told that there state government cant get them books, paper, pens... yet they can spend millions on junk like this. Its amazing. The new lights are okay. I remember one year for Christmas eve we had a monster storm in So Cal and that storm had a ton of lightning for a good 3-4 hours and also pounding rain. This is not the worst. This is only the start of things to come. Look even in great depression we had short term spikes that looked like things where going to get better. From what I have read I expect California will have a 15-18% unemployment rate and then level off. I think the days of single digit unemployment will not be seen again unless we took massive action. With are great state legislator that will likely never take place. Things I think would save California... Lower the state minimum wage to what the Federal government has. This would slightly help inflation and would help the industrial sector the area stay competitive to Mexico and a lesser extent China for cheap labor. Lower taxes not raise then like we did last year with the state budget. Lets be more business friendly like Texas. A no sales tax holiday. Most other states have them and it works fairly well. California is one of the few states that do not do this. Lets lower or get rid of some environmental standards and taxes. We need to bring back the places that where run out of the state by the EPA. One last thing continue to support HR 1207 and S 604. It might be the last chance to save the US dollar. There is no need for the Government to continue buying dollars from the private central bank and continuing to spin us into debt with each piece of legal tender they print to us for a cost.  (Saturday Nov 21 | post #4)

I do think the city should do the right thing and not only cut down the trees but pay to fix any pipes that the trees have terrorized for years. Cutting down a few not so great looking trees isnt going to raise the ocean level any faster.  (Nov 16, 2009 | post #2)

I just hope that the money that was allocated for this project goes towards it. A little bug told me that often times when extra funds like this come they often end up paying for extra things in the administration offices. This person told me years ago for another agency he worked for they got a ton of money extra project money to clean up graffiti and only 10% of that money went to that cause. The rest of it went to stuff like Thanksgiving food for everyone and a large Christmas party.  (Nov 16, 2009 | post #9)

This is an old scam and since he willingly sent the money not much you can do. Remember to always ask questions. I had a situation where someone called me and said they needed all my info again for one of my magazines that I subscribe to. Unless Gamestop changed its policy from what I remember a friend telling me who worked at one for Christmas last year, that unless a security system was already in place before they moved in they do not have live video cams. I often find myself going to the Whittier town Center less and less. Not to many good places to eat, nothing to affordable for lower income person like myself.
