Drill Stolen On Tape

Everyone has the right to post, but it should be up to the person to be respectful. It should be up to the individual to act in a decent manner. I haven't called you any names. I have never used profanity in public or in a public forum. I feel it isn't good mannerism. It sounds as if you are proud to have served your country. If you feel you haven't been patted on the back enough, I thank you for your services! It's an awful thing to have such a strong ego go to waste. All Hail! Our HERO is here! Feel better??? I feel sorry for the youth you serve. Have you taught them to use the same language you have used? have you taugt them how to insult? Have you taught them to think without talking as well? If you have taught them your values, sadly, they will be the next generation of scum and druggies.  (May 8, 2009 | post #27)

Community Garden

I agree. Perfect idea. Growing locally, buying locally, and stimulating the local economy. I'd love to be involved in the proposal efforts. Maybe, The Village of Keeseville, The Town of Ausable, and The Town of Chesterfield should all recieve a copy of the same proposal. Ideas like these are vital to small communities. Kudos, Vision for Keeseville! Excellent Idea!  (May 5, 2009 | post #3)

No, I was defending the younger generation. I was referring to you, the one who has recently changed names. I think the change is amusing. It proves my point. It's easy for you to sit behind a computer screen and make rude and ignorant comments. I doubt you have ever attended a town meeting of any kind. I doubt you have ever had any desire to become directly involved in the community. Tell me I am wrong... Fortunately, I do attend town meetings, I do meet with local leaders, and I do stay involved with the community. I will defend those who I believe are right. That's how things change. When people share a common goal, a similar interest, and a positive attitude, that is when communities charge ahead. I will march on! I wasn't calling anyone out. Besides, if I was, it's because I enjoy a good debate. I enjoy sharing the FACTS. That's one way I differ from other individuals. I won't let the words come out unless I have researched thoroughly. I believe in validity. I believe that selling views and ideas comes with great responsibility. You keep on hiding... The world will orbit without your efforts, and when it changes, sadly, it will leave you behind.  (May 5, 2009 | post #25)

Aesthetics Of Keeseville

Patience is an important virtue to have. This area won't prosper overnight. If we all work together towards a common goal, it will prosper much quicker. The local governmnet does care. I have attended Town Board Meetings at the Town of Chesterfield, and I can assure you, local officials care.  (May 5, 2009 | post #4)

Another faceless name... It is easy to sit behind a computer screen, and spill out whatever ignorance that approaches the lips. Without a thought process, words are easy.  (May 2, 2009 | post #23)

Sick of people living off the system!

Reality check for K-ville, As an Editor for the page, I will report you. Enough is enough! Let's stay to the topic, quit the personal attacks, and make topix.com a place to discuss the issues in a respectful manner. Remember, If you are willing to call out someone else's grammatical errors, be sure to check you own...  (May 2, 2009 | post #8)

The same individuals who have made these ignorant and uneducated comments, will be the same individuals who "jump on board" once this community pushes forward. They will be the first to take credit for the new direction this community is destined to take. When that black cloud parts, and the sun shines bright upon this community, those who were once labeled as "everyone ", will stand proud upon their feet. With educated, positive, and energetic people, this community will prosper. More can be done! More will be done!  (Apr 30, 2009 | post #2)

I could not agree more! A major problem within this community is the "older" generation. They seem to enjoy complaining about the situation, but show no desire or ambition to become involved. So,standingUPforMY generation, you are completely correct with you statements. Especially, the statement about ignorant individuals becoming part of the problem. People from all walks of life have suffered from drug addiction, alcoholism, or from some other form of dependency. People get down on their luck. It isn't fare that certain individuals take great pride in labeling others, and in the process, labeling an entire population. It's easier for some individuals to complain, label, and slander. To me, it would be more beneficial to become directly involved and create a change. I have one thing to ask these "other" individuals... Take a long look into the past... Most of the time, the individuals who have complaints to make about a community, have had a bigger part in the problem then what they want to admit. The younger generation hasn't destroyed this community, the process began with the generations before.  (Apr 30, 2009 | post #19)

The Press Republican - Firefighter, EMT crisis looms in Essex C...

That is a beautiful way to describe volunteers. They are priceless. Firefighter, EMTs, and other emergency personnel are the real heros, along with the many service men and women.  (Apr 29, 2009 | post #3)

I have taken notice of the lack of proper screening and the lack of enforcement within the village. I believe, that you are 100% correct about the property values. For example, the junk from a certain "well known" local business owner. Not only is it an "eye sore" within the community, but I am sure there have been many effects upon the environment. Unfortunately, there is little-to-no enforcement upon this individual from the local governments. Fortunately, we do have individuals within the community who have cared enough to seek change. Now, how can we make the village and the other municipalities to bring this individual to change his ways and make this community beautiful and safe again?  (Apr 26, 2009 | post #2)

There will be hope for this community without a village board standing in the way. If it wasn't for Mr. Morrow and the Town of Chesterfield, the village sewer treatment center would have been shut down. How did the village allow a near shutdown of such a vital piece of infrastructure? The Town of Chesterfield turned over grant money to the Village of Keeseville, to make the repairs, and keep the sewer treatment center operable. This community will flourish, but it will flourish much quicker without a village board in the way.  (Apr 25, 2009 | post #17)

I'm not in disagreement that the Village Goverment needs changes. I believe, that there would be great benefits that could come from a feasibility research for the dissolution of the Village of Keeseville. The Keesevill name would not go away, and address would not change. A movement could be started with a simple petition, signed by the village taxpayers, asking for a feasibilit research for the disolvement of the village government. Seeing how the water is in the Town of Chesterfield, and the sewer is in the Town of Ausable, there is no reason why the two towns could absorb the villages debt. I think the Keeseville area would progress significantly without a village board in the way. There was a movement long ago to dissolve the village. Since then, there has been many reasons for the villages dissolvement, and a feasibility research would prove those reasons.  (Apr 24, 2009 | post #15)

To the topic on hand: Regardless of municipality, there are individuals who are willing to steal, beg, and try to beat the system. Every town has these individuals. Was the Adirondack Hardware of target? Who knows. Would it have been targeted regardless of security system? Probably. Would it have mattered where the store was located? Probably not. In these times, more and more people are resorting to thoughtless behaviors. I don't believe that anyone can be blamed for theft, except for those committing the crime.  (Apr 21, 2009 | post #11)

Why would I kid you? I have no reason to believe you over anyone else... I'm quite satisfied with the work Security Concepts has done, and I commend them on a job well done. If you have issues with the company, talk to the company. Comments here won't do you any good, and they certainly won't change anything.  (Apr 17, 2009 | post #4)
