$250,000 In Marijuana Seized In Greenbrier

This will at least impact the business here temporarily. Maybe more will slip-up and more arrests can be made. One can always hope.  (Saturday Nov 21 | post #3)

What is the Best Reason to Live in Greenbrier?

No "mafia" here but there are those 'undesirables' that happen to gather in groups. As for the ex-boyfriend part, I'm not sure. Sounds like he would have had to pay off the cops to pull that off.  (Monday Nov 16 | post #34)

White House Watch newspaper?

Julie, sports is great but there is always more going on than just sports. Small towns are great for their support of local teams and rivalries. Unfortunately few in small towns believe it to be important to report on the other happenings.  (Oct 18, 2009 | post #12)

We need more blacks in Arizona

Watch your words hon; I lean liberal but am not racist. Most liberals are based in Democrat because the Republicans, for the most part, want things their way and only their way.  (Oct 18, 2009 | post #8)

COUNTY CAN NOT AFFORD SCHOOL TEXTBOOKS FOR ALL CHILDREN

The lottery money is for the continuing of education at colleges, not for the public school system. I have had two children go through the Greenbrier schools and have one in the middle school now. No, there are not enough books to go around. No, I don't know why they don't buy enough to make it feasible to give books to all students. The only thing you can really try to do is find the books yourself and purchase them. You can also make your name known at the Board of Education and attend the meetings. It's a long process but it might be worth it.  (Sep 28, 2009 | post #6)

Jobs Could Be Cut As County Tries To Balance Budget - NewsChann...

Depends on what the charges are. I believe we could have better results in deterring crime if the consequences of the crime committed are living better in jail. Make jail a *gasp* BAD place to be instead of somewhere for a "bad*ss" to live. Give the convicted a good reason to not want to be there or go back; that should save a lot of money in the long (even short-) run.  (Sep 17, 2009 | post #7)

Jobs Could Be Cut As County Tries To Balance Budget - NewsChann...

Ok, so there are other ways to cough up the cash other than cutting jobs: 1)Put the county jail inmates to work simply earning their keep (no pay). 2)Forget the traffic tickets but make the county officials quit driving their "official " car unless they pay for their own gas. 3)Reduce the amount of supplies that county offices get and/or use the cheapest supplier/source. 4)Do not pay officials, judges or other employees for days/hours they do not actually work. There are more ways that would cover using less resources and lowering the utility bills of the county but I think somebody in office might get the idea from these.  (Sep 10, 2009 | post #5)

Nope, not righteous. Simply believe in treating people as they deserve. Why should we give those who have done wrong (sometimes DIRELY wrong) things that we, as law-abiding folk, have to struggle for? They are guaranteed three squares a day and four walls and a roof...we aren't guaranteed that and, at times, do without one or both of those. Now, tell me how that works out to be right. If I do wrong and end up in jail I would expect no more.  (Sep 9, 2009 | post #6)

Well, if you are in jail then maybe you don't deserve much more than that! Jail and prison inmates don't deserve what they receive while incarcerated; Tent city is the place for folks of that kind.  (Sep 9, 2009 | post #3)

Leadership programs grow in county

This program sounds like a good thing. Is there anyone perusing the forums who has graduated this class?  (Sep 6, 2009 | post #1)
