El Coqui coming to town

Don't respond to this coward. He's just a small minded kid who spends hours in front of his screen looking to insult others. Pray for him. He lives on a diet of hate and his only exercise is to insult others. He's probably never been out of Washington. I feel sorry for him.  (Tuesday Sep 30 | post #37)

5.4 quake rattles Southern California

We were movin' and a shakin' in Whittier too! It felt equal to the Whittier Quake in 1987....but not so bad as the Northridge quake.  (Jul 29, 2008 | post #2)

San Bernardino County Sun - CHP officer dies in freeway crash

How is citing someone for speeding a scam? Why is a fine for drunk driving a scam? Your comparison to Hitler is ludicrous. It is obvious that genocide is not only wrong, it is evil. How can you begin to compare genocide to a traffic ticket, obeythelaw? That is insulting. The question is, do you think any laws are valid or should the streets just be a free for all? Should we have any cops on the road? Or are you like Charles Manson who promotes anarchy?  (Jul 29, 2008 | post #22)

Latino immigrants hit hard by recent job losses

Even the rich do menial work.....It has nothing to do with it being "beneath you." I worked for a European immigrant who came to this country with nothing after WWII. Within 30 years, he owned 150 gas stations and a refinery...thing is, through the years, he still picked up trash around the gas stations and worked the registers when needed...it was his busines and the success of that business depended upon hard work at every level. In 1988, I got a $5,000 a year raise because I never said, "That's not my job."......my Boss said I had the right attitude and it paid off.  (Jul 27, 2008 | post #80)

Latino immigrants hit hard by recent job losses

That's actually kinda sad....I have a degree and a nice job. But, I have "flipped burgers" in my time and learned a lot more about life and myself in those menial jobs than I ever have in my career. It built up my work ethic, taught me humility in a hard day's work, taught me the value of a hard-earned dollar, and challenged me to value my education if I ever wanted more than that type of work. Believe me, my children will be learning those same lessons from a "flipping burger" or "bagging groceries" type job. I refuse to raise children that are too proud to do whatever it takes to make ends meet through honest, hard work. In the last recession, my salary was cut so my position could stay and I had to take small odd jobs temporarily to get by. Luckily, I didn't have the attitude that I was above it..... If more Americans had less pride and a better work ethic.....things would be a lot different all the way around. May God help our children who are being pampered and sheltered from work. They won't know what to do when the real world hits them.  (Jul 26, 2008 | post #75)

Home prices in Southern California plunge nearly 30%

Again, resorting to....it's spelled v-u-l-g-a-r-i-t-y, and insults proves my point. Go back and read my text. What part of my response constitutes my opinion on illegal immigration? I did not offer it at all. I was merely responding to your lack of debating skill. I regret if the truth offended you.  (Jul 26, 2008 | post #37)

Why do gangs kill the innocent?

Actually, they do believe that killing other gang members over territory, hard looks, or other absurd behaviors is "justifiable killing"!!! It is a behavior similar to dogs and neanderthals. Very primitive behavior. They are also taught to pray to the Virgin Mary for protection.....it is disgusting that they can commit horrible crimees wearing a cross around their necks. May God have mercy on all of them for the evil they do.  (Jul 26, 2008 | post #39)

I'm glad the mature part of the conversation has begun. Scholars are armed with research and debate with facts. Fools resort to insults and vulgarity because, in their ignorance, they are otherwise defenseless.  (Jul 26, 2008 | post #34)

San Bernardino County Sun - CHP officer dies in freeway crash

WHAT???? So if an idiot is driving down the highway at 120 mph and hits your best friend alongside the highway and kills them.....he should "let it go" because all tickets are scams and unnecessary???? Here's the solution, if you don't like tickets...don't earn them. I lost my grandfather to a drunk driver that the CHP had arrested twice before....and he still went on to kill someone because some lame juror panel didn't have the guts to throw the guy into prison. He "had a young family at home." Well, I was only three weeks old and my grandfather had 5 other grandchildren at the time.... So before you start blaming officers for giving tickets, think how many lives they save because they do.  (Jul 26, 2008 | post #18)

Santa Fe Springs, CA

Man in middle in Pico Rivera

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Pico Rivera has not looked as bad as it has in over 15 years! I grew up in PR and worked for the City of Pico Rivera for years. Fifteen years ago, the city was being cleaned up, crime was down, graffitti removal a priority and code enforcement kept up with trashy empty lots, unsightly garbage, unkept yards, cars parked on lawns..... Well, I am in PR every day (I live next to it now), and I can't believe how horrible it is becoming. Garbage everywhere, weeds in center medians and empty lots, diapers in parking lots, graffitti on every other wall, and gangster tags etched into every commercial window. Everyone knows that the taggers shoot to kill in that town, even little Grandmas who try to stop them by honking their horns as they pass. The City Council is just a bumbling circus full of egotistical, self-centered, morons looking to grease their own palms working behind an undereducated stooge as City Manager who couldn't manage a Burger King much less a city. I know and have worked with all of the above. I took my advanced degree, years of experience and high-tailed it outta Dodge. Stella, I ask that you take another look at the delapidated, unorganized City of Pico Rivera without the rose-colored glasses. Some of the people are lovely, but the city..........it is downright grimey.  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #10)

Dad to see girl after 12 years

Well, I don't know all the circumstances, the article is very short and sparing on details. However, the father has a right to know his daughter and the mother is denying him that right. I'm not sure how "fine" her life was if she was constantly on the move between the midwest and East Coast, changing schools, homes and friends. That is a very chaotic life where nothing is permanent or lasting. If they were changing names, then the girl was being raised without respect for the law and learning how to lie (even if she was unaware of a father, it is a bad precedent to set with a child). Certainly, yanking the child into CPS is tramautic, but the mother was breaking the law. The girl is the real victim here, regardless.  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #3)
