Citizen, you have NO idea!!!!!!!! I have been here for 20 years. I get the freaking Yankee thing all the time. I try to tactfully point out the diff between the Midwest and Yankeedom, but the knucklehead good ole boys that are in charge down here dont get it! At least I work for myself, I really have NO idea how folks from other places get along here. Valdosta is a s**hole, btw, you would be better served to try to get a job up there, the economy here has collapsed, I am looking at buying property in SG County and coming home, its just ashes here, ya know?  (Saturday Oct 31 | post #4)

I grew up in SG, I currently reside in Florida. I totally agree with you. I am completely fed up with people that refuse to assimilate. What is that about? When my ancestors moved to SG, they learned English very quickly in order to get ahead. That no longer seems to be the norm. There is actually quite a bit of hostility down here if one does not "habla espanol". I cant wait to move back to the midwest, its still America there, for crying out loud!  (Oct 30, 2009 | post #2)

Anyone old enough to remember the statue of Mary in front of Valle getting decked out in a Valle football uniform the night of Homecoming that year? yes, its important to compare......y'all actually have pretty cheap rates......used to live in PB, I live in Florida now, my bill last month was $400, and thats a rural rate, no sewer, no cable, no h2o..... wish I was back in Missouri!  (Oct 13, 2009 | post #8)
