Ironically, this happened right about the time I was leaving a (prior) posting about how nice it was that there was little to no violent crime here in Federal Way. I love the fact that they still prin this in the paper. I am coing from a place that is much larger, and has so much crime that if they did this the blotter would take up half the paper. I agree with Donny. To take a child who is already in a traumatic situation and place them in a circumstance where they trust and depend on you, and then traumatize them further is unforgivable. To traumatize them in this manner deserves the highest possible form of punishment because someone like this should not ever have the opportunity to do something like this to ayone else ever again.  (Sep 11, 2009 | post #3)

Ater reading the full article, I have some concern. 11 students and three adults were arrested, with another 3 students and 1 adult still loose and being searched for...? This is one of the reasons I moved to WA from CA, because I wanted better than this sort of thing for my child. Is this sort of thing common here in the Federal Way schools? Story for Federal Way adolescents | Andy Hobbs

This is an incredibly well thought out and articulated article. Too bad that much like the sign that went over reporter Andy Hobbs head when he was in middle school, it will go over the heads of most modern teens who even bother to read it. Parents should make sure that their teen read this artlicle and give it some thought. Much like the sign, it won't mean anything to them today, but when they look back in a year, 5 years, ten years, it will have a profound meaning to them that SOMEONE tried to explain this to them BEFORE life explained it to them the hard way. Then again,some lessons can only be learned by self discovery. Wow. Touchy much. Would this be because you have no proof to back your allegations...? Last time I checked, here in America, people were considered innocent until PROVEN guilty. I'm not sure about laws here in WA, but where I come from that statement could be considered grounds for a libel lawsuit. One should have evidence before one makes such sweeping statements. Coroborating evidence might be helpful.  (Aug 6, 2009 | post #6)
