Calif. restaurant chains required to list calories

Would be great if someone could force Checkers to disclose their nutritional information. It's not available on their website nor can the information be obtained in any of their locations. Google searches prove fruitless as well. Some have tried contacting the company have been told that their information is unavailable due to "recent menu changes." This has been their story since 2000, and while their menu does change a lot, plenty of items have stayed the same. Many of us don't even get the courtesy of a reply. Granted fast food isn't the best meal choice as a steady diet. But for the occasional treat, there's nothing wrong with it. Too bad Checkers refuses to help its patrons make educated choices. There are probably plenty like me who refuse to eat there as a result.  (Wednesday Oct 1 | post #1)

Oprah's mom: I shouldn't have to pay

Ohhh, if she wins, I'm so going to sue Capital One and HSBC with the same excuse. How dare they extend credit to me and then expect me to pay it back!!  (Wednesday Oct 1 | post #15)

NY judge: Broken-tooth popcorn suit's a dud

Attorneys clogging the court system with frivolous lawsuits take note - there is at least one judge out there who recognizes you for what you are: an embarrassment to the legal profession.  (Monday Sep 29 | post #5)

Congress expected to pass rescue package

Democrats were trying to add some sort of financial compensation for Obama's pet ACORN ... an organization which has had corruption issues for the last 5 years at least. Not sure if the Republicans were able to get it out.  (Sunday Sep 28 | post #18)

Financial bailout agreement reached

If people would do their homework, they'd see that the so-called stench of the last 8 years actually started during the Clinton administration. Yes, I know, everyone thinks they were better off during those years. And they probably were, thanks to the previous administration - the Regan years. The Clinton administration was when it was decided that it was every Americans' "right" to own a home. Lenders were encouraged at that time to begin offering mortgages to people who couldn't afford them. Granted, Bush is no saint, but it's unfair to blame him totally. While we're at it, let's examine who's been running congress the past few years. That's right, the Democrats. The ones who believe it's everyone's "right" - including illegal aliens - to own a home regardless of income.  (Thursday Sep 25 | post #57)

McCain to suspend his campaign

McCain is showing that is more a leader than 'community organizer' Obama will ever be. Shame on Obama for putting his needs before the needs of this country.  (Wednesday Sep 24 | post #114)

Laura Bush says Palin lacks foreign policy experience

Love how the headline is that Laura Bush says that Sarah Palin lacks foreign policy experience conveniently leaving out the rest of the quote. Just another attempt of the liberal media to sensationalize what is basically a nonstory. Laura Bush married George W. Bush - she's obviously not too intelligent herself.  (Wednesday Sep 24 | post #2)

McCain: Andrew Cuomo would "restore some credibility" to SEC

You are 100% correct. Of course people aren't going to see it that way since their hatred of the Bush administration does not allow them to see beyond the last 8 years.  (Monday Sep 22 | post #17)

Group dangles $50K for Jews who move to Ala. town

Okay, I'm going to the local Temple to find out what needs to be done to convert. Cost of living is much cheaper than here on Long Island and that 50Grand will go much further than up here.  (Sep 8, 2008 | post #7)

MSNBC cans Olbermann, Matthews as anchors

I haven't forgiven him for wanting Opie & Anthony fired for something a guest said on their show about Laura Bush & Condoleeza Rice.  (Sep 8, 2008 | post #18)

MSNBC cans Olbermann, Matthews as anchors

His ratings may have increased but MSNBC is still the #3 cable news network. And whose truth is he telling? The truth according to Olberman. His partisan opinions do not belong at something as important at the Democratic or Republican conventions. Correction...they do as long as you allow the other side to have a say. He didn't do that. He even tried to run over Matthews, who is on his "side". It's about time MSNBC woke up. I was switching among the 3 cable networks during the conventions. Even FOX, known for leaning toward the Right, was more bipartisan than MSNBC.  (Sep 8, 2008 | post #17)

These things are unpredictable. I've been in Daytona all week and for most of the week all we were hearing is that the storm was going to impact us on Thursday. Glad I didn't pack up and come home early!  (Sep 4, 2008 | post #8)
