CHARITY CONCERT AIMS TO ROCK FOR A GOOD CAUSE

CHARITY CONCERT AIMS TO ROCK FOR A GOOD CAUSE Local bands will perform to raise food and funds for the United Food Bank of Mesa (Mesa, AZ) – Music-lovers and good-doers alike are welcome to come together at the first ever benefit concert for the United Food Bank (UFB) on Nov. 7 at the Superstition Springs Mall. The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. and feature local bands including CC Ryder Express and Neon Factor. Attendees are asked to bring either a non-perishable food or monetary donation in lieu of an admission fee. Even though the community need for help at a high, food supplies at UFB are down as much as 60 percent this year with a possibility of running out of supplies by the holidays, their busiest season. This pressing need led way to the event, which hopes to collect enough donations to ensure those in need will be provided for in the upcoming winter months. “It is a difficult time right now for everyone. People just can’t give as much as they would like, so this is a fun way to give people the opportunity to help while also benefiting,” Ray Berry, President of Affinity Productions, said. “Anything, even just one can of food, can make all the difference to those less fortunate…and a can of food is a lot cheaper than a concert ticket!” All food donations and charitable contributions are tax deductible and will be received directly by the UFB at the event. The concert, arranged by Affinity Productions, is sponsored by Spirit X, an independent parachurch community, WildernessRock, Inc., a non-denominational interest group for men, and the Westcor Group. The open air amphitheatre is located adjacent to Boarders, behind the Cheesecake Factory. The superstition Springs Mall is located between US 60 and Southern, along the west side of Power Road in Mesa. United Food Bank is a community-based private nonprofit that provides hunger relief/food assistance by collecting, acquiring, storing and distributing food and related commodities through a network of partner social services agencies in eastern Maricopa County, Gila and Pinal Counties and southern Apache and Navajo Counties.
