Tom Philpott | Orange Heart Disease Ruling Could Boost Va Costs

Vietnam Vets needs Help with Americans to write to Congress to end the back log in claims! Claims have hit ONE MILLION in back log! It does not good to add more with so many Vets claims dating back to 1980's are still being delayed. We need every one to write a letter or email today  (5 hrs ago | post #1)

Medical claims against Agent Orange may be easier for Vietnam v...

At this time Veterans Affairs is not working on claims that have been added! VA is in hold till they know how to proceed with the NEW diseases add! If you are a Vietnam Vet file a claim NOW! The longer YOU wait the longer the wait for your claim! Tax payers and Veterans need to write there Congressmen or women and Senators ASAP and let them know we are tired of the delays! Delays cost lives - End the back log on claims - CLAIMS NOW stand at ONE MILLION in back log. It's time America sends a message to Congress NOW:  (7 hrs ago | post #1)

for one if they would not drive all over the city would save fuel! Stagging is good but running engine 10 per shift is not good! They could place units at hospitals - old fire stations - working fire stations - and the list goes on! I see them eatting driving around smokeing but in all wasteing fuel daily and at night! Its only time that they will cry louder for more funds = more taxes on the people!  (20 hrs ago | post #1)

Veterans - Homeless - VA - FHA - Hub - Homes for Veterans?

With all the HOMES empty around the USA some foreclosed on some owners just walked off and left cause of loss of job and the list goes on, Why can't the Veterans Affairs use the houses to place Homeless Veterans in? In every city in the USA is thousands of home sitting empty and in some cases being striped to the bare walls, thieves are removing the wiring, plumbing, light fixtures and more. I ask WHY can't our Federal Government step in as they OWN thousands of the homes being destroyed daily across and set them up for our Veterans who are homeless and for Veterans coming home to NO home! Veterans who can obtain work can then start paying on the house they are placed in! They can do repairs and turn the home into there own. Veterans who are Homeless could share homes as many homes have three and four bedrooms - some homes for the homeless would stay as a shelter but for others who could get off the streets could get cleaned up and get a job and get a home through Veterans Affairs and start the repairs needed on his or her new home. To me it would take a lot of Veterans off the streets and give others a fresh start on a house to call there own once it was paid for! What do you think. Give some of your Ideas and thoughts.  (Sunday Dec 27 | post #1)

Heart Disease added to Agent Orange Vietnam Vets

Yes true on the Congressmne and or Senators - I have both checking into this at this time! *What I got from Veterans Affairs via U S Mail is they are waiting on guidence on Ischemic Heart Diease - They will go back on file date for claim - KEY here is to file NOW - Wait time on this I was told could be 60 days to 90 days! Send in Any and ALL paper work to the VA - Also have your congressmen or women push this for you! **Note** Veterans Affairs does not like Senators or congressmen checking on claims so NO matter what YOU do file the claim!  (Saturday Dec 26 | post #11)

Griffith Cites Opposition to Health Care Reform Bill in Defecti...

The Government can't RUN Veterans Affairs Health Care for the Veterans - Over One Million claims in back log - Veterans from Koreia to Vietnam are still waiting on claims and compinstation from the U S Government! There are 67 Veterans Office in the USA - there is over 8,000 who work for Veterans Affairs and to this day claims are back loged daily and it's not getting any smaller! SO how can Obama Care work? Government run care is not going to work like clock work in the four years you pay in and wamO you got health care! It has not worked for service members for years! WHY do you think it will work for YOU?  (Tuesday Dec 22 | post #8)

Veterans Affairs Health Care When Will It Be Fixed?

I know Veterans affairs knows there are problems but how do they go home every night and rest knowing thousands of Veterans are homeless and other waiting for medical care and with a million claims on hold! It's nothing new delays in Health Care have been going on since the Korean War and got worst with more delays and denials with the Vietnam War. I get asked WHY are there delays why wont they help you or give you compensation for your wounds and services to our country. The answers are not easy - In some cases it's staff with in Veterans Affairs do not know what to do with the claim! Some claims are three fold with many problems to where Veterans Affairs does not know HOW to compensate said veterans so it's in HOLD. Some claims are old dating back to 1960's and some paper work got burned in the St. Louis fire at the warehouse for veterans records' and millions of DD214 discharged papers were lost and the Veterans 201 file with all his history of service. But today Veterans have there paper work and Dr's who know what and why they are sick from Agent Orange to being shot to PTSD and more. I myself have been working on claims with in the VA since 1980 and it's ALL over Agent Orange and trust me even with Dr's saying what is wrong and VA Dr's saying what is wrong in statements to letters to Veterans Affairs its wait and see what they will do! Again you ask WHY when they have the proof in front of them? Why who knows or in my case they give you 20% to hope you take it and run and leave them alone! But I am not leaving them alone and I am still fighting today over heart - ischemic (is-KEY-mic) heart disease, also called coronary artery disease or coronary heart disease, Diabetes Type 2: Impotence - vascular disease left lower extremity & hip area - both atherosclerosis and a nerve disease called diabetic neuropathy. I have proof of my service and where I was in Vietnam and how long and medical information to back it all up! I myself are still seeing Dr's at the VA Hospital and Veterans Affairs has me seeing Dr's again - Privet Dr's they contract to QTC Medical - I still see ever few months for them to give reports back to the Veterans affairs - You see it's a go around and around in Dr's - Paper work - and more paper work - This can go on for years and does with most veterans. Paper work you have to be a lawyer to understand and words they use I can't even spell. There are time limits on said paper work and reports back to Veterans Affairs but NO time Limit on them to give you compensation on said claims for said wounds. The ball is always in there court and the time and paper work is always on there side! I say if more citizens would write the Government - Write there Congressmen - Write Veterans Affairs - Let them know HOW you feel on what is happening to out Veterans of today and past Veterans more might get done! But in my asking for others to led a hand in writing and giving there thoughts most are not sure they want to or as one said if I did will they listen? I can not say they will listen with just a few writing but I can say if the people of the USA would stand up and write in bulk and let there feeling be known about Veterans who are homeless to waiting for health care to compensation more would be done! If the people of the USA to not act soon thousand of US veterans will be gone and have fought for out country for what? It's time to email - Send U S Mail - Fax veterans affairs - the white house and let your feeling be heard! Until Americans wake up and lend a hand to a million veterans with claims waiting to be looked at and processed nothing will be done any faster then it is today!  (Tuesday Dec 22 | post #1)

Tuition aid still not reaching veterans in time to avoid panic

Nothing NEW with Veterans not getting what they are to get on time - With Veterans Affairs on the job it's always delays and problems! We have been told over and over it's a NEW Veterans Affairs and NEW staff and New man in charge but nothing ever changes - Words change and there meanings but in the end it's the same - paper work - red tape and it all comes down to the Government Veterans Affairs.  (Tuesday Dec 22 | post #1)

Heart Disease added to Agent Orange Vietnam Vets

Yes if it was ME I would still sign up for VA Medical and for his MEDS! I also have heard there is a delay in Ischemic claims but have seen nothing in writing as of yet from the VA: Still file as the date you file is the date you get back pay from - I have used the VA for all my medical and I have NO problems with health care I have gotten - Wish you both well  (Sunday Dec 20 | post #9)

Heart Disease added to Agent Orange Vietnam Vets

Yes very true Steve Cradick: It will take time for all of us but if you are turned down as I was once for Ischemic Heart Disease I did refile the next day! Also I have Congressmen in my area looking into it and watching what is going on with my claim* Just keep pushing paper work and it will happen! I am on 2nd push for the Heart disease and have now gotten Dr's appointment for that claim - Veterans Affairs sent letter back with Dr's to go see again - It's a game but one must play the Goverment games to get what is due! Keep in touch steve  (Wednesday Dec 16 | post #6)

Gillibrand seeks change in Agent Orange policy

my proof is in paper work dd214 says I was there vietnam - orders on where I was station - health info from vietnman - ageng orange registory I belong to - Why was I turned down? Well it's called red tape and paper work - veterans affairs staff who do not read and who do not understand agent orange and I have now got my congress men working on it also! - first get all info you need from the past - have a senator or congressman leand a hand it works = I know some do not like what or who they are but they have helped me in the past and I got what was due to me! I am again useing them on my heart  (Sunday Dec 6 | post #5)

Grasping for help

I am happy he is getting true help NOW! It's sad what us Veterans have to do just to make ends meet! It's sad that Veterans Affairs is slow to act - in some cases never act on needs of veterans! I am waiting also for answers that may take months to years to get what is owed - It's not about money it's about LIFE but some country and state veterans commissions do not care! Why asked why they do not check on Veterans I even get told to many to worry about! They do not pay us to track down a Veteran to see even if he is dead or alive - Veterans service officers are not all bad but many are! More needs to be said about Vetrans Affairs to service commissions from state to state and see are they doing what they are to do? My guess is NO in many of the citys and states! Good Luck Kikead  (Sunday Dec 6 | post #1)
