Rise in crime, drugs reported - News

No matter what the circumstances are, in the end it comes down to you deciding you can do what you want, even if its' illegal or hurts someone else. Once you make that choice, its all on you baby. Man up and take responsibility. You chose to do it, you commit the crime and when pay up time comes around, you suffer the consequences, quit **** . No one to blame but you, period.  (Mar 18, 2009 | post #603)

Ferry shutdown to cause economic ripple effects - News

Yeah, but you all still want Oahu paying your bills, and you wanna keep your house and car huh? Like those electric lights, buying groceries and manufactured goods at the stores? Yeah, well soon you'll be paying the real cost for them instead of Oahu Taxpayers subsidizing them for you. See how you do then, hope you still have a job, you'll neither be welcome or getting one over here.  (Mar 18, 2009 | post #75)

Chinatown parking stalls closed to stall drug deals - Haw...

Mainland China had a running drug cartel feuled by the British for a century, more addicts than any nation in history and an armed and organized crime syndicate that had just spent 20 years fighting an actual war with the Japanese. Mao came in, rounded up the users, identified the dealers, shot the dealers, then he shot the users, had no more use for them, in 4 years time he had driven the drug culture out of society and into hiding and the drug dealers to places like Hong Kong. Force works, ask the Singapore Chinese.  (Mar 18, 2009 | post #1424)

Condo sales tumbled 50% in February - Business

In this market Hawaiian gold is a good investment, be able to barter it for passage to the mainland when the whole place collapses.  (Mar 18, 2009 | post #299)

Condo sales tumbled 50% in February - Business

Don't worry tents will soon be a rising investment market, especially if they're located near prime spots with public toilets. I'm thinking 1500 to 2500 for 200 sq ft with good mosquito screens and a bush nearby for personal use.  (Mar 16, 2009 | post #292)

Homelessness eludes solutions - Editorials

Quit feeding them, enforce vagrancy laws, forcibly send them back to the mainland. Close IHS and other places that cater to keeping the homeless homeless for their own survival. If IHS and the others want to run shelters, move them somewhere out past Barber's Point, then they'll have the homeless incarcerated there, and be able to service those that are able to be helped, deport the rest back to the mainland or overseas where they've mostly come from.  (Mar 16, 2009 | post #41)

Chinatown parking stalls closed to stall drug deals - Haw...

wow, almost 1350 posts, six months gone, well, despite having disagreed with Mike, I came around and hoped he'd get a chance to use his system here, but it looks like it's not going to happen. I'm leaving after graduation, as the joke goes at UH, here's your sheepskin, and here's your ticket. I will be happy not to have to make security runs at 3 am, not to have to disarm knife brandishing drunks, not to have to repeatedly call the police for break ins on our block, I've done this for seven years now, the building I've managed security for was once overrun with drugs, dealers, hookers and users. Guys from Mayor Wright and Island West who didn't even live here run wild, dealing and fighting, intimidating the elderly residents, all the usual. Now we have new management, the organized crime elements that operated from the commercial parts of our building are gone, we have no druggie problems anymore, and we've had no major incidents involving residents for many months, We still get problems from transients and groups using the street, but not from within the building. We have a major renovation and clean up well underway. Even one of the old local guys from Akepo lane came by the other day, and was amazed at how changed the place is. It was hard, but it worked, now when I leave, I can be sure it's because they really don't need me and my friends anymore. (I hope it stays that way). Since Mike's not coming folks, you're going to have to do it yourselves. All you have been very helpful and vocal, whose going to step up?  (Mar 16, 2009 | post #1418)

Penn files complaint over gel use - Sports

Perhaps recently we've been seeing matches that seem tainted in part because UFC is all there is, with no one else for fighters to go with, what's the drive for UFC management to keep things up to standards? Make that money!  (Mar 16, 2009 | post #96)

Aloha Superferry, Hawaii's radicals strike again!

I suppose Jerry Mander and the rest of his supporters are happy, now that they can stop the ferry once and for all. Hopefully SFerry will now sell their ships to Indonesia as they threatened before, close shop and cutachogi out of town, leaving Hawaii's rep that much more solid as the absolutely most incestous, illegal and corrupt anti business state in the nation.  (Mar 16, 2009 | post #1)

As they say about homeless elsewhere, "Quit feeding them and they go away." Time to stop handouts, stop payments, stop foodstamps, too many taxpayers, laid off workers and families need help, sorry about your luck buddy, came to Hawaii looking for easy living found yourself a one way ticket back to Los Angeles with 4 years probation for vagrancy if you come back.  (Mar 16, 2009 | post #1417)

Dad who raped baby gets life in prison - News

Life is unfair, but the justice system is supposed to exist to replace personal vengeance with punishment by the state. If the state fails to execute vengeance, the victims personal right to vengeance is in no way abrogated. The day this monster sets foot outside prison someone should burn him alive.  (Mar 16, 2009 | post #67)
