Cards will explore options for pitching
i believe but im sure ill get a unch of people saying no no that would never happen but hear me out the cards as unlikely as it may be could get johan santana look if they were in the AL they would be amazing bc they have a great DH in duncan and a top notch young AL pitcher in anthony reyes them and maybe another prospect or edmonds could maybe land them santata (Dec 4, 2007 | post #1)
Cards sign Izturis to 1-year, $2.85M deal
at least this time they signed someone of value this can do some good for this team but what thy should have done is gotten rid of rolen anyway possible and put that new brandon ryan kid in at SS and traded for a 3B since the free agency pool is kinda low other then A-rod like that would ever happen and the infield wouldnt be that bad (Nov 30, 2007 | post #1)
Mailbag: What's in store for Rolen?
ive been living in the st louis area for years and ive been through the good and the bad times with them but u tell me if u were a gm today would u pay what 22 mil for a third basemen whos numbers are down recently and is quite aged and is known to have back and shoulder problems i dont diagree with the old scott rolen but he wasnt the third basemen he used to be and scott rolen isnt the only one i want to see gone edmonds and eckstein are two other players who i want to see gone aswell (Nov 25, 2007 | post #3)
Cards reclaim outfielder from Toronto
What is wrong with the cards all they do is sign these useless players they should have got rid of edmonds and what do they do in centerfield u ask SIGN TORI HUNTER with all that revenue from all the sold out games the last two seasons but the cards are cheap and thats why they got rid of jockety he wanted to improve the team so the cards got rid of him and signed a "YES MA'M" guy to do what they want because as long the butts are in the seats no matter how bad the cards are they wont change (Nov 22, 2007 | post #1)
Mailbag: What's in store for Rolen?
Theyll need to because i know this might come to a shock to some of you but NO ONE WANTS SCOTT ROLEN!!!! That's why were trying to get rid of him. Why try to trade for a guy and give up players for a guy im sorry scotty that cant run well cant hit he isnt the defencive player he used to be if he is traded it will be the worst nove in MLB history (Nov 19, 2007 | post #1)
Cards, Eckstein are both shopping
i will say now what i have been repeating for years the cards need to rebuild around there two star players pujols and carp and to do this they must either A: Trade for some quality players but to get some u must give some and at the moment we dont have anything of value to give up B: Jump into the free agent pool but with the cards as cheap as they are and the free agent pool as shallow as it is i dont see anything good coming the cards way OR C: Get rid of the older players who are past there prime and bring in younger more dependable players and get rid of the main three Rolen, Eckstien, and Edmonds the cards wont get good fast but at least they will be taking a step in the right direction (Nov 18, 2007 | post #4)
Three Cardinal Prospects Leading Way For Team USA
finally this sounds great except this will be trumped by tony la russa lack of trust in younger players (Nov 18, 2007 | post #1)
Ankiel homers again as Cards sweep Reds
this guy is a beast if i could pick any outfielder right now that i wold know would go to work everyday ankiel would be the guy (Sep 4, 2007 | post #3)
Ludwick believers were right all along
Yeah Baby go Ludwick I love this kid every year cardinals bring up players that are great players because theyre consistent they come out and do theyre job they get on base they score runs and they get key hits when the team needs it the most ludwick duncan and ankiel are the perfect outfield combination for the cards right now at least until that harasmis (i think im spelling that right) kid that the cards are putting their hopes on gets called up (Aug 29, 2007 | post #1)
Contending Cardinals Face 35 Games In 34 Days
As much as ive dogged on the cards in my other comments(read them you might learn something) i did believe they would make it to the playoffs in the beginning of the season just not the way theyre doing it now. If they end up repeating they will be talking about it for years about how a bunch of bench players (minus Pujols)come together and end up winning the world series twice in a row. Watch out for the CARDS theyll win 28-7 in their next 34 games (I hope) (Aug 28, 2007 | post #1)
Edmonds, Cardinals Beat Braves 5-4
Just like in Cardinal fashion they win by having a big innning and relying on their shakey bullpen to win the game for them but you cant argue with a win no matter how ugly it looked. (Aug 26, 2007 | post #1)
St. Louis' spirit still chirping
Mark it on your calenders boys and girls THE CARDS ARE WINNING THE CENTRAL no doubt Brewers have no pitching beyond Suppan and the cubs PUH they are out on the mere fact that they suck around August and even if they didnt have the dreaded GOAT CURSE lumming over their heads their numbers are still horrible they were relying on Soriano for power and h didnt produce Floyd was brought in to add some power didnt produce Zambrano is the only one on that team worth having and thats just because he is a freaking beast on the mound and GOT TEN ilove the anagram of the cubs im writing that on my walls (Aug 21, 2007 | post #4)
Cast your Central lot with Cubs
Yep They are the exact opposite of what the A's are in the AL They get hot in august The Cubs seem to get nervous when they get close to the end with the lead and they crash and burn BEWARE OF THE GOAT!!!!!! (Aug 21, 2007 | post #8)
Pujols is the anti-Barry Bonds
BARRY BONDS RULES stop saying crap about him NOTHING HAS BEEN PROVEN im tired of people saying that " he did steroids hes a cheater, he should be known as the worst player ever" NOOOO He should be known as the player that broke the home run record and its amazing that it happened in our lifetime. Be proud of that. And im not saying that hank aaron is a bad player I still think that he is the best ball player of all time. Barry bonds is no comparrison. (Aug 17, 2007 | post #29)
