lol ! you were stubborn but that's determination in reverse, I bet there's no stopping you if you put mind to something... The problem is the more you subject a child to beatings the more resilient they become to pain and of course children grow so the risk is those beatings become harsher. The risk of abuse increases or it no longer becomes a viable means of 'discipline'so finally the parent will have to do what they should have did in the first place use their head and find alternative methods to deal with the situation. A parent beating a child black and blue is not discipline, that's the parents lack of self control and unleashing their own temper on the child. The abusing parent will always seek to justify their own behaviour by blaming the child or by looking at their own childhood experiences, they fail to recognise that abuse is often learnt.
