When I Said this goes back to the days of Carter and Regan I wasnt speaking of welfare.. if you have an ounce of knowledge about our country you will know whom started welfare. (Tuesday Nov 24 | post #32)
Well I'll tell you American, based on the way things are going under Obama.. everyone should have leaned heavy on the republican voting ticket. Further more if you think its the republicans that started this you need to go back a bit further.. for instance it was a democrat that started welfare, and this goes back to the days of Carter and Regan. To be quite honest I am sick of people saying it was Bush's fault we fell.. honestly when you take a look at when the Democrats have controlled Congress for the last two years and since they took over, the economy has completely tanked. How can you blame Bush for that? It is the democrats that are the problem. Open your eyes ... I feel you are sleeping past the important parts. (Tuesday Nov 24 | post #31)
First off learn to spell if you are going to call someone out...and yes I am talking about the post above your reply to me. Secondly I would suggest anyone other then Coburn. Now if that ballot doesnt contain anyone worthy.. then simply dont vote.. its that easy. For those of you knocking Oklahoma after you have been here.. we are not all nuts... nor are we all indians. I am a white girl living just fine in Oklahoma. My mortgage is cheaper then most places, I can afford healthcare, I have no credit cards or debt (other then my house), and I expect a healthy return on my taxes this year if Obummer has not taken all my money. Now if you want to complain about someone voted into office lets start there.. I think we have a lot more reasons to be complaining about him. (Monday Nov 23 | post #29)

Law Proposed To End Text Messaging While Driving
Okie Lobbyist I encourage you to read up on the statistics of Texting while driving, considering we are just now to an age where such disturbances are truly taking our eyes away from the road, causing an astounding amount of fatalities each year. Here are just some of those statistics.. Teen Driver Cell Phone and Text Messaging Statistics •Despite the risks, the majority of teen drivers ignore cell phone driving restrictions. •In 2007, driver distractions, such as using a cell phone or text messaging, contributed to nearly 1,000 crashes involving 16- and 17-year-old drivers. •Over 60 percent of American teens admit to risky driving, and nearly half of those that admit to risky driving also admit to text messaging behind the wheel. •Each year, 21% of fatal car crashes involving teenagers between the ages of 16 and 19 were the result of cell phone usage. This result has been expected to grow as much as 4% every year. •Almost 50% of all drivers between the ages of 18 and 24 are texting while driving. •Over one-third of all young drivers, ages 24 and under, are texting on the road. •Teens say that texting is their number one driver distraction. I encourage you to read more.. as this ban could be done if certain companies play along. (Monday Nov 16 | post #128)

Nylah.. good luck with stopping phones completely in cars.. it simply will never happen. However I do agree with you about retaking your tests for driving .. there are a great deal of people out there that havent a clue whats going on while out on their sunday drives. Gives you a better understanding about how road rage starts. (Sunday Nov 8 | post #126)
Local groups oppose MAPS 3 - KFOR
Ron what this tells you is that Councilman Walters isn't interested in growing our town to bring more jobs, people, and money to our state. GROWTH is what keeps us alive and our head above the water. Without it we would be no where. Having a councilman so out of touch with what OKC needs today is sad.. but also tells us voters what we need next time it comes time to vote for Mr. Walters. You stated vote no ... WHY? What are your reasons? (Sunday Nov 8 | post #34)

First off BigDog, if you want to get your point across to someone start with not belittling them within your posts. IF you are a councilman, which I highly doubt you are, your subtle hints do not portray you to be anything other then a **** off citizen who has just realized that he has been taken by our government, big or small, for many years. This is not new news to many of us. The game of politics has been played for many years, and although we have not seen such parallel amounts of indecency in past years did not mean it wasn’t coming. As far as the MAPS3 project, when do you truly ever know what is really being done with our tax payers dollars.. they can account for it or receipt it to anything they so shall desire. So knowing where it all truly goes is merely impossible. I agree that there needs to be provisions, As I so stated in my earlier post, and would be willing to bet that if and when this doesn’t pass, they will make the necessary changes that the good folks of OKC need before making such a big vote towards something that could potentially be huge for our state. City Of Bethany.....Corrupt and Unprofessional Police and Judges.
lol you cant handle the heat you gotta get out of the kitchen or behave like a productive citizen which is what I opted for living here in Bethany. Ture I have been pulled over by Edmond cops.. but most always, I was in the wrong. (Sunday Nov 8 | post #270)

With Proper Provisions BIGDOG, this could be a yes vote if those changes are made. Further more people are not ignorant nor poorly educated for wanting to vote something in that could be great for our city. IT just needs some changes made to ensure that the money will be well spent by whomever that may be in that role. There are never any guarantees when it comes to our government so you take what you can get. Maps 3 has some great stuff in it.. (Monday Nov 2 | post #29)
Local groups oppose MAPS 3 - KFOR
I can understand why most are against this. My biggest reason for not wanting to move forward with Maps 3.. is lack of cops.. we need more to keep the newest areas covered.. we are already understaffed and adding to the downtown dsitrict isnt going to help unless we have more officers whom can help protect the citizens in these areas.. If they cant add more cops .. vote no to maps 3!! (Monday Nov 2 | post #26)
Millions of Federal Stimulus Dollars Used to Maintain River Cru...
I read many complaints about roads.. as it has been our worst lost cause scenario for a long time.. but as of lately.. stimulus money has been covering that.. I see new roads going up everywhere... we have a new I-40 being built.. and money is going towards new roads everywhere.. so that isnt plausible anymore.. we are getting new roads. Now About the Bus stations.. we need to expand that and get more money rolling into that.. but these boats are for our visitors... it brings them from a hotel district to our downtown district ( which is cash to that district ).. and if more info was readily made available.. these things would be used much more often. More money is always needed everywhere.. so complaining about teachers pay... and meals on wheels.. these programs arent going to create jobs... which is what the stimulus package is about. Not saving .. but creating. Uping a teachers pay isnt going to help our economy nor is feeding some homeless people. Not to say that those things arent needed but this is the wrong place to get that cash. (Monday Nov 2 | post #34)
