I really do not like that entire judge it thing. I think it is tacky and useless, used only to hurt people. I wish they never added that. (Apr 29, 2008 | post #10058)
Yea, Topix won't allow phone numbers unless you "skirt" around them. (Apr 28, 2008 | post #12)
Then I more than apologize MM, my intent was NOT to confront you. I am deeply sorry if it appeared that way. I have read the post again, and I do see where it could seem something other than it was. Again, I am very sorry if it seemed something other than my intent. (Apr 28, 2008 | post #10033)
Well, I don't know about you, but I bet half of what I haven't heard of could fill the Grand Canyon! (Apr 28, 2008 | post #10030)
"what you a lawyer now too? you know every case that has been tried in the us courts?" No, Thats why I asked. I was curious as to if MM had an actual court case that I could look at or if she was depending on something she heard. I would have liked to have looked it up. "that would be a family court case and those records are confidential fyi you know im sure youve heard it many times its nunya." I don't believe it would be a "family Court case", but it is certainly possible. I wished to continue discussion about the subject, but wanted to know a bit more about what she was speaking about. "you owe the lady an appology for implying she lied here." I implied nothing, you inferred something. I have never found this kind, giving lady to be a liar.I asked a question in regards to her post, as it was something I would have liked to look at. "i find her to be a pretty upfront lady about everything and see no reason to doubt her from her past history here." Nor do I. "more parents should put the half the attention it looks like she puts into her kids wouldnt be so many drugies and losers floating around." There is no question in my mind that she is one wonderful mom. She is an absolute tribute to great parenting, and she should be celebrated. "hey while were at it whos watching yours while youplay online all day? poor kids stuck in playpens with no attention while mom pretends she knows everything." An average of less than 5 posts a day (including the news wire posts) hardly shows that someone is online ALL DAY. Also, I have never claimed, nor pretended to "know everything", I just find things interesting. I enjoy learning about things. Almost all of my postings here are done either when the older kids are at school and the younger ones are napping, or my husband is home. I have never owned a playpen. "try minding your own family business instead of everyone elses why dont ya." My family business is just fine, why not take your own advice? (Apr 28, 2008 | post #10026)
I have never heard of a successful case. I am not saying it hasn't happened, but I hadn't heard of one. Personally, I feel that if the father wants to raise the child then there should be a consideration, but I had never heard of it happening. (Apr 28, 2008 | post #10025)
MM, I think you are great and wonderful lady, but I am going to ask you to cite any court case that has forced a woman to carry a baby against her will (even if the father wanted the baby.) I have never heard of any precedence for that to happen. (Apr 28, 2008 | post #10019)
He is staring at YOU. Me, I just scroll the page down!!!! LOL (OK, that was funny, until the image verification that I just saw was 6660) (Apr 26, 2008 | post #152)
It disturbs me. The lack of state media coverage on the proposed extension to the land fill. It really does. I will admit, I have not been an active member of the community involved in stopping it. I just don't know enough about it. I would like to see the Tennessean do a report on it, but they don't. I would like to see channel 2, 4, 5 or 17 do a report, but they don't. Mind you, I don't get all my "news" from a box in my living room, but it disturbs me. It disturbs me that the only people concerned are the people who live in Marshall County. It disturbs me that the meetings that are being held are attended (as far as I can tell) by local people. It disturbs me that other counties just think this is OK. It disturbs me that we are selling beautiful land to do noting more than fill with garbage from other counties, to a for profit business. Counties that have decided they need their garbage dumped, but "NOT IN MY BACK YARD." It disturbs me that our neighboring counties are not visibly making a stand and saying, we don't want it in Marshall either, because face it, when they are done dumping on us, you are next. It disturbs me that this HUGE story is being ignored by people who have the power of the pen. We can sit all day long and talk about how badly we don't want it, but in the end there will be no real outside help unless big media covers it. We are selling our souls to the devil. I believe (and I know I will be corrected if I am wrong) that Waste Management takes and fills the current land fill with trash from places like Rutherford County. What would happen if we all went to M'boro with one days worth of OUR garbage and dumped it on the prettiest acreage we could find? We would be arrested immediately. Pretty sad isn't it? They (Waste Management that is) are getting away with something that should be considered a crime. We NEED landfills, everyone knows that. But do we need a for profit business trucking in trash from other counties so they can make money? (Apr 26, 2008 | post #1)
How often to you 'check in' on Topix forums?
Hola. Unfortunately, my written Spanish is worse then my spoken Spanish. I don't know where Lome Togo is...... (Apr 26, 2008 | post #510)
Fond Memories of L'burg and Marshall Co
OH man, what great stories! I love reading them. I didn't grow up here, so this is really fun to learn about. You really should consider the next Americana Storytelling group. I bet you would have much to offer. (Apr 26, 2008 | post #136)
Well, I hope to spend my prebate check on American made products. Well, that and GAS!!!!!! (Apr 26, 2008 | post #147)
See folks, people who disagree can have a CIVIL, interesting conversation, without name calling and slams. Isn't it refreshing? (now watch, I'll be called the "forum police" or something by someone not willing to actually be involved in a true exchange of ideas.....) (Apr 25, 2008 | post #143)
Interesting thought. But you are correct. It takes more than passion and money. (Apr 25, 2008 | post #141)
