Six Flags wants smoking forbidden

Well since six flags have banned it THEMSELVES there is no reason for them to ask for govt involment. They have made a business choice to ban it, and good for them, but for them to ask for a law requiring a ban is pushing their business perspective on other businesses that may be liek them. You do realize smoking is LEGAL right?? Why do you antis always compare it with illegal substances or immoral actions (like peeing in a pool) You teach children to make smart informed decisions. Teach them facts, and hopefully they will choose wisely. Drinking underage (which aint that bad) is a choice many children make, even though we pound them with how bad alcohol is. Underage smoking, same thing. I do not want people who are not fo age to consume these products, but if they choose so when they are adults, so be it. It does not give you the right to call them idiots and barade them with insults. I love you swimming in the ocean analogy. Always for the children right? Its so sad that you think because one smoes that they cant handle physical activity. I was a lifeguard, and I smoked a pack a day. I also run/jog 5 miles a day. Amazing isnt it? Why dont you understand that bars have more to offer than serving drinks. Ok, so your a burger and vanilla milk shake lover. Mcdonalds stops serving vanilla milkshakes, so you get one for your house and stop going. You like that anology better? Hospitality is a service industry. You cater to the needs of your particular client base. If you client base is heavily smokers, you allow smoking. If someone and steps in a says no more, you can not expect your client base to continue to come, that simple. Make the best of the situation you say? Govt want to pay for that? Oh, Do you non smokers want to pay for that? I didn't think so. Whats that you say, you think govt should help? how? Oh right, lets raise money by raising cig taxes... I seriously doubt that he doesnt see a drop in business in the winter. No one wants to go outside in the winter, especially in mass. But even so, it doesnt matter if it affect some business negatively or most positively. That fact that is effected even 1 business negatively due to a govt regulation that has no scientific basis, and no grounds to step on the rights of the private business owner is what makes it wrong. Thats a dumb argument, and I am sick of hearing it. We like to smoke, but we like ventalation too. There are veyr few people that like to be hotboxed. It is your right.. You can believe what you want about the effects of SHS. You can also complain all you want about people smoking where they are not allowed. I agree with you. If it is non smoking, dont smoke. BUT to force all places to be non smoking is the problem. Simply let the owners choose what is msoking and where smoking is allowed and that will be the end of it. If there are too many places where there is smoking then the non smoking places will flurish, and the smoking places will convert to get in on the profits. And I was not comparing apples to oranges. You said for the good of mankind.. as in to get people to smoke less, for THEIR helath. Best interest of all america eh? So, Should we ban fast foods? That would be in the best interst for all america? How about make everyone drive around in yellow cars? Much easier to see at night. No drinking anymore.. that does no one any good... How about rationed brussel sprouts. Everyone knows brussel sprouts are good for you, therefore in the best interest of america. What great atrocities people are willing to endure for the good of the children... Phooy.. Mind your own business and your own life. Dont go to places where smoking is allowed if you fear it so much. Why must you take away peoples choice. You have to be pretty damned dense to compare smoking inside to drinking and driving or not wearing a seatbelt. First, drinking and driving puts all other people on the road in serious and immediate danger. SHS maybe might possibily have a kinda sorta increased risk maybe of lung cancer and heart disease.
