Boy Scouts' resolution would allow gay youths, but not ad...

I'm glad that the innocent children may soon be free of anti-gay discrimination but still consider it wrong that scout leaders may still be banned based on sexual orientation. I don't think the issue is going to stop here nor do I believe that businesses that have stopped donating to the scouts based on their anti-gay stance will resume donating again just because the scouts may now have partial equality. Businesses who have stopped donating or will stop donating are not going to compromise on partial, but only full equality. Homosexuals and child molesters are not the same thing. The Boy Scouts of the U.K. and Boy Scouts of Canada allows gay scouts and scout leaders. I think that it is ridiculous that the Boy Scouts of America are implying that gay men, especially gay American men, are somehow more likely to molest children than heterosexual men from here and abroad. The molester or rapist is motivated by having power over their victims, it's not about sex or sexual attraction; the gender of their victim is usually irrelevant to them. Statistics say that most pedophiles identify themselves as heterosexual (straight) men and most of their victims are female. If a gay boy grows up in the scouts I think it would be terrible for him to be kicked out at 18 unlike his straight counterparts. There have been gays and bisexuals in the scouts and military for years. I think people are overreacting to it all. Just because someone is gay doesn't mean they are going to be putting the moves on everyone just because they are of the same sex. Straight men don't go around feeling on every woman they see. Gay men like other gay (not straight) MEN, NOT little boys. If they are going to say that all gays are pedophiles then why wouldn't that apply to all straight men being around little girls or who are fathers to little girls? Should straight men not be able to be a school teacher or coach to little girls because they are a heterosexual man? What about den mothers (who are straight women)? Should they not be able to be den mothers to boy scouts because these women are sexually attracted to the male gender?  (Sunday Apr 21 | post #10)

Thousands Flock To Chick-Fil-A

I've been completely honest about everything to the best of my knowledge. These are solely my opinions and I have not knowingly stated anything false about the business. I'm going by the news I've read online.  (Aug 2, 2012 | post #6)

Thousands Flock To Chick-Fil-A

I don't understand why Chick-Fil-A feels they are being singled out and discriminated against by the "left wing." No one is telling them they are not entitled to their opinions. How is boycotting a place discrimination?! No one is infringing on their free speech or freedom of religion. What about the left's free speech and freedom of religion? Does the "right wing" only have those rights or do all Americans? Just because my views, speech, and religious beliefs differ from someone else's doesn't mean I shouldn't be able to have my views, freedom of speech, and religion even if they aren't that of A majority. Not all religions, faiths, or churches condemn gays or same-sex marriage. If I choose not to do business with a someone that is my right just like it's their right not to do business with me. If they are against gays why would they want their business in the first place? Why does Chick-Fil-A feel they are being demonized? It seems like they have plenty of business from those who agree with their views. Why do they keep complaining? If I ran a business it would be to sell to customers. I would be neutral and not bring any religion, politics, or social issues into it. I would want all types of customers to feel comfortable doing business there. It seems to me that the business is being hypocritical. They feel they are entitled to their views, beliefs, opinions, freedom of speech, and religious freedom and they are so why do they feel opposing views are not the rights of others and that the business is being discriminated against? I'm glad they did come out about their views because now I have a choice to do business there or not for I know where they stand. I choose not to do business with them. I get so tired of people and businesses that dish stuff out but they get all upset when people dish it back to them. Yes people have freedom of speech and religion but that doesn't mean their aren't consequences for actions taken under those or that everyone is going to agree with them or like them. I know not everyone is going to agree with everything I feel either.  (Aug 2, 2012 | post #4)

Gay Man Says He was Arrested - for Wearing a Thong

Are you not shoving heterosexuality down our throats right now? Are you not judging us as an entire community? I'm not flamboyant, in your face, but I won't put up with our community being demonized based on a few people. If people are that ignorant enough not to like me based on what SOMEONE ELSE does or they don't like me because I'm gay I really don't want people like that to like or associate with me. Their opinion doesn't matter to me and they can't make me feel any way I don't want to feel. I consider myself above trash like bigots.  (Mar 15, 2012 | post #20)

Gay Man Says He was Arrested - for Wearing a Thong

Please don't judge the gay community based what an individual or individuals does. Everyone should be judged based on their own actions. An entire class of people should not be judged. So if women wear bikinis does that make them all sluts? I don't think so!  (Mar 15, 2012 | post #19)

Gay Man Says He was Arrested - for Wearing a Thong

Correction: I think it's very unfair that we are all judged based on a few but when heterosexuals do something out of the ordinary all straights are NOT judged harshly for it like gays are.  (Mar 15, 2012 | post #18)

Gay Man Says He was Arrested - for Wearing a Thong

It's not the gay community's fault that people are so shallow, judgmental, narrow minded, and stereotyping. I think it's very unfair that we are all judged based on a few but when heterosexuals do something out of the ordinary all straights are judged harshly. It's a double standard and I don't think we should have to feel guilty or have to correct other gay people's behavior just because there are many straights who are ignorant, hateful, labeling, stereotyping, and judgmental (prejudice). People with that mentality are the same type of people who are racists and sexists and condemn religious minorities or say all Muslims, blacks, and Jews are a certain way. People who come to the wrong conclusions and judge people are the ones who are wrong not the guy wearing a thong. America seems to have more of a hang up about thongs and nudity anyway, not other countries. Maybe this country appears weird to the rest of the world. What about women that wear thongs? No one seems to make a big deal about until a man does it. How gender discriminatory is that?! No one seems to complain about mixed sex couples giving a kiss on the cheek in public but when a same sex couple does it everyone acts like it's live pornography. People need to grow up!  (Mar 15, 2012 | post #17)
