Oklahoma Senators Ready To Debate Health Care Bill

I wouldn't use some of the words you used. I am a Veteran who get help from the Veterans Adminstration, both medical and financial, and help from the Social Security Adminstration, financial only. My prescription medicines from the VA clinic to not tell me exactly what time of day to taken them. Two of them have take 2 times a day on the labels and two say in the late evening sometime before I go to bed. One med has use 4 times a day; but, it is merely for dry eye problems due to allergies and even Wal-Mart sells that one, no prescription required. The VA has no connection with where I live and neither does the SSA. The VA does not tell me when to eat or sleep. In Iraq, not long after the US Military claims that it has made a city or area safe from terrorists, suicide bombers blow up places there. George W. Bush declared war on Iraq. But, the Afghanistan conflict is not even a war. We are not fighting against the Afghanistan. Afghanistan has been having conflicts and wars for a very very long time, just like it was with Vietnam. I say that for everyone who served in the US Military and they become disabled later in life and not able to work, the Veterans Administration should make sure all of their health needs are met and so are their other needs are met such as food, clothing and housing, especially when they can still live independently.  (44 min ago | post #36)

Second Grader Found Safe After Wandering Away From Tulsa School

This reminded me of my great-nephew, Brad, who is 7 years old and in the 2nd Grade at a small town elementary school in SE Kansas. Brad told his teacher that he hard a difficult time using the school's restroom and wanted to go home because of it. His mom found out that the real truth was that his mother was baby-sitting a boy with whom he liked to play. Brad didn't have a bowel problem at all. His grandmother (my older sister by 13 mos.) and grandfather have moved to the little town where he goes to school and they live about 5 blocks from the school. But, he lives about 2 miles from the school and out in the country and that is straight East of where my sister lives. When I recently told my sister that I figured out that it was only 5 blocks from her home to the school, she said she didn't want Brad to know that. Pastor Billy Joe Daugherty Dies Sunday Morning

I am not making a judgment of Billy Joe Daugherty here. Apparently, he was officially ordained by the Oklahoma District Council of the Assemblies of God when he was on staff at Sheridan Ave. Assembly of God in the 1970s. When an ordained minister leaves a denomination and starts an independent ministry, the denomination no longer considers the ordination creditials they gave the minister valid. Reporters and news anchors on Channel 6 talk like Billy Joe's first name was "Reverend " or "Pastor. " In formal usage, "the" must be used with "Reverend " since it is not a name but a title. "Pastor" is not a title of address like "Mister, " and it is merely the name for the position of leader of a church.  (1 hr ago | post #257)

Every 6 years during the 12 months before the General Election in November when his name is on the Ballot as a Republican running for re-election to the US Senate, he gets busy to help people in Oklahoma and to get his name (and face) in the state news media. Pastor Billy Joe Daugherty Dies Sunday Morning

I am saddened because he died. I didn't alway agree with what he preached when I watch his live Sunday Morning 8:30 AM broadcasts in the ORU station in the 1990s. I met him at a roller skating rink in the 1970s before I went to ORU. I was an Adult volunteer with the Youth Ministry at the AG I attended. That church and Sheridan Ave. Assembly of God had a joint skate session. I don't remember Billy Joe preaching any "name it and claim it" sermons like the Word of Faith Prosperity preachers preached. I knew people who attended Victory Christian Center who were good people and I also knew people who went their who would go out of their way to make sure he saw them at church. Investigators Use Stimulus Dollars To Fight Internet Predators

If you have a computer and go on the internet, you had better be careful, especially if you are gay, to post FRIENDSHIP ONLY messages in Message Bulletin Boards on websites on America Online. I had a "12 year old boy" contact about 10 years old and he told me that he had found my name in a AOL Friendship Only MBB for gay men. On the home page of the MBB, it was explicity stated that it was only for posting information to find gay friends only and that if sex was mentioned or even hinted at in a posted message, the message would be deleted by an AOL forum moderator. I checked out the 12 year old's AOL profile and he had in it that he went to a country school west of Sand Springs and attended a Baptist church out that way, too. And, he even had a last name on the profile. I told one of my friends about the "boy" contacting me and when I showed him the boy's "profile, " my friend said, "I used to work at that school as a janitor; I will call the secretary to see if a boy with that name goes there." Well, he later told me that when he called the school and talked to the secretary, he just asked if there were any students there with that last name. She told him that a couple of sisters were going there and no one else. He did some further checking on his own and found out that the person was a TPD policeman and working undercover online for the FBI. The cop had literally used his own last name in the phony AOL profile. I did not participate in Chat Rooms on AOL which were not specifically for adults and the chats I was involved in were not about sex either. They were just G-rated discussions. This was a case where a cop was trying to entrap me by contacting me first and claiming he was a boy. When I had showed my friend the fake AOL profile, I had already told the person whom I thought was a boy to find friends his own age who liked to do what he did and not look for people on the internet that online.  (Saturday Nov 21 | post #12)

Tulsa Public Schools Receives H1N1 Vaccine

Yesterday morning, Ch. 6's "Six in the Morning" had two segments on Santa Claus. The 1st one was about those who dress up to pretend to be Santa Claus and needing to have the necessary flu shots and how the flu virus and other germs can get on Santa's suit. The 2nd one was a Channel 6 Reporter who claimed she literally talked to Santa Claus and also claimed Santa told her he was going to get flu shots. If Santa Claus was as magical as the myth claims, he would never get sick and children wouldn't get ill because they sat on his lap. There is no connection with the Birth of Jesus and Santa Claus. Sometimes when the children of church going families find out their parents lied about Santa Claus, then they think that their parents lied about Jesus being real, too. Billy Joe Daugherty In Critical Condition

I first met Billy Joe when he was the Youth Pastor at Sheridan Avenue Assembly of God in the early 1970s. I was an adult volunteer with another AG's youth in Tulsa. I talked to him when both churches had a skate night at the roller skating rink on Sheridan. The last time I saw him in person was when there still was a Quik Trip across from Wal-Mart on 81st Street. He was putting gas in his vehicle. While he has said some things in his sermons, I don't agree with, I refuse to judge his relationship with Jesus and I do believe that is genuine.  (Saturday Nov 21 | post #55)

Both marijuana and tobacco were created by God and they both are literally just weeds. The former is illegal to possess and the latter is legal for those legally old enough to smoke. Holiday Help Shortages Plague Tulsa Charities

There really needs to be a Food Bank for People who live in the City of Tulsa. And every church congregation that has buildings and property worth more than a million dollars need to have a food pantry to so they don't have to send the needy to pseudo-faith based charities. Most folks don't even know that the Salvation Army is really a church denomination. New Controversy Over Tulsa Police Take-Home Cars

Since members of the Tulsa Police Department are employees of the City of Tulsa and residents of Tusla pay taxes which go to their salaries, they should live inside the city limits of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
