Very good comment. It pretty much sums up the good and bad with personel responsibility, societal responsibility and just plain luck.  (Thursday Aug 14 | post #248)

This is an injury that will truly hurt the Vikings. He made a huge difference on special teams.  (Sunday Aug 10 | post #3)

Minnesota Twins designate Livan Hernandez, recall Francisco Lir...

I don't see why people hate the Hernandez signing. He did for them what they needed. He pitched very well in the first quarter of the season when all the young guys were getting used to starting in the majors and Liriano was still trying to get his arm strength back. If they would've been out of the race, he would've either been moved earlier in a deal or would've keep throwing his 6inning 5 run "gems" all year long and not resigned. He was a good teammate, especially for the latin players, and was solid for awhile. Not a bad signing. ...but I have always said I would rather give that full 11 mil to a guy like Mike Lowell to fill the weak spot at 3b and right handed hitter then spread it around for a bunch of guys who MIGHT perform. I hope the Twins someday learn this lesson and fill the holes with young guys who might perform but cost nothing.  (Saturday Aug 2 | post #3)

MVP is what I can say. If the Twins make the playoffs, he is the MVP, or should be.  (Wednesday Jul 30 | post #2)

Minnesota Timberwolves re-sign Craig Smith

I like him as a player but hey, he said he didn't get any other offers and THEN he talked with Minesota again and that here is where he wanted to play. Yeah, maybe because no one else was going to pay you what you wanted! Still, good signing keeping him and for only 2 more years.  (Jul 17, 2008 | post #4)

Packers GM, coach say no to Favre's release

You knew the Pack won't give Favre an outright release. He might sign with the Vikes or Bears. His ego is too big to accept not starting so it is either trade or staying retired.  (Jul 12, 2008 | post #1)

TOM POWERS: Minnesota Vikings and Brett Favre could be a great fit

Yes Joe Namath was very loyal. Oh wait, didn't he end his career as a LA Ram? Yes, I think he did. Great show of loyalty right? This discussion is not really worth having as Green Bay would never let him come to Minnesota so even if everything else WAS real, they wouldn't let it happen. End of discussion.  (Jul 4, 2008 | post #42)

Man sentenced to 30 days in jail for beating child

There is a difference between when a kid gets a spanking or such and when they get beat. I used to get beat when I did something wrong and yes, I did less wrong at the time but more when I coould get away with it. A smack on the hand for a young child when they are touching something they shouldn't is no big deal and help them learn as long as it is accompnied by words. Beating a 3 year old doesn't do anything to help them learn which is what you are supposed to be doing as a parent.  (Jun 27, 2008 | post #27)

CHARLEY WALTERS: Former Cardinals manager Whitey Herzog can't b...

I did say he will get you into the playoffs. He seems to be too weak, either physically or mentally or both, for the playoffs. yes, last year was an aberration with 0 pts but he was soooo unimpressive that it really sticks with him and teams saw how to stop him. Be physical and never let him get any space. Without bodyguards in the playoffs as in the regular season, teams can afford to be more physical with him and it really showed.  (Jun 13, 2008 | post #12)

Paul abandons campaign

Although I disagree with much of his policy, he always is a man who seems to have actually thought about them before speaking and in ways that he feels are best for all. Really, isn't that all we can really ask of our elected officials?  (Jun 13, 2008 | post #3)

Woman pleads not guilty to sexually assaulting boy, 15

Same reason a MAN would want to have sex with a GIRL, as you said sick. That is what they are. I just hope that she gets punished as severaly as she would if she were a man. Meaning YEARS in prison and not just a slap like house arrest which so many women get for this type of act.  (Jun 13, 2008 | post #5)

and 0 points in the 6 playoff games. Hmm, which are more important? he is worth a good deal to get you to theplayoffs but can't be counted on to get you NEAR the Cup, unless he buys you tickets with his huge salary.  (Jun 13, 2008 | post #10)
