I haven't read anywhere concerning this so I figured I would ask here. From the best I can tell the citations issued will be more along the lines of a civil matter (if I am wrong please correct me). If that is the case how will the city enforce the payment of fines...place liens on your property, submit it to bill collectors and pace it on your credit report? I can not see how they could use the threat of suspending ones license for this.  (Jul 29, 2008 | post #335)

"Eventually the municipality gets caught and costs them millions of dollars." Should read. Eventually the municipality will get caught and could cost them millions of dollars. I am firmly against red light cameras and its not because I run them. I have read many studies about how little they do; I have also read many stories where municipalities have short timed the yellow lights so that people would run light to generate revenue for the municipality. Eventually the municipality gets caught and costs them millions of dollars. I also have an issue how a picture is taken of the license plate but not the driver.  (Jul 26, 2008 | post #50)

Nationwide there have been so many issues with red light cameras. Now lets see it takes a picture of the license plate but not of the drivers face, oh yeah..please just appeal the ticket everyone if they can't prove you were driving then they lose.  (Jul 24, 2008 | post #2)
