Kids using pot - one reason why Nixon did what he did! Realisticly, school, pot and kids go back decades, nothing new here. So, why is it a problem now? Politics? Cigarettes not as popular? Other drugs are just too hardcore? Makes for a good argument? Kids and pot use are infinite together, just like high-fructose corn syrup! H1N1 Cannot Attack Marijuana In Human~TRUE!

"I don't think many parents would want their kids 'on drugs' for a mild, flu-like illness," he said, "and it's sure to raise hackles with the anti-drug people." Response = Most kids are on drugs today, so the point would be? Jeffrey Lytle McKinleyville - 5th District  (Monday | post #2)

State budget again plunges into red

That light at the end of the tunnel is a one-way trap door - it is actually the last bits of light emitted right before the collapse into the Black Hole. Yes, that is right, the light we see is dissipating into the darkness, not expanding and filling voids! Jeffrey Lytle McKinleyville - 5th District  (Monday | post #30)

Food security report: Food stamps program is underutilized

What would be helpful would be the Health Departments of all public jurisdictions working with food vendors, stores, bakeries, restaraunts, etc... to collaborate together in collection and distribution of non-sellable foods that are still edible but not sellable - so much food is wasted locally, let alone globally. Farmers market also has many farmers who could organize their operations in giving away free food that is determined to be unsellable. Unsellable = minor flaws in appearance, consistency, etc... Nothing poisonous nor detrimental to any persons health or well being - just free and nutritious food! Jeffrey Lytle McKinleyville - 5th District  (Saturday Nov 21 | post #39)

Spontaneous combustion leads to McKinleyville fire

Don't read and follow the instructions or user manual intentionally in order to make an attempt at fraud. The insurance company can't read one's mind; therefore, the insurance company can't really know the truth - accident, mistake or intentional act(criminal misconduct). Minimum irresponsibility = slightly deviating from instructions, directions or user manual (choreographed perception) in order for an alterior motive (insurance fraud). It works like this in certain situations - Jane Doe wants to fix up her whole house but can only afford to do a minor portion of the house. So, do some work and a fire destroys more than the minor portion of the home that one could afford. Now, fire has damaged other portions of the house. Result = Jane Doe gets to remodel her whole house after all; and, depending on the situation and work, the government may get higher property taxes out of the deal. So, in a sense, insurance companies work "hand-in-hand " with government to raise your taxes. This is a reality that so few understand - tax collection and subsidization through insurance claims paid out. Jeffrey Lytle McKinleyville - 5th District  (Saturday Nov 21 | post #14)

Food security report: Food stamps program is underutilized

”I think pride, avoidance of government programs and that rural independence pride keeps people from seeking help sometimes ..." My response = I believe this to be the case more often than not. People want to make something of themself in their life. having a good paying job is a start. Jeffrey Lytle McKinleyville - 5th District  (Saturday Nov 21 | post #8)

A problem is that stupidity and financial wealth are seperate universes. In other words, an insurance company wants money for profits. If they can insure someone, they usually will. When an "impacting event" occurs that suggests that a policy holder's rates should go up to cover the costs of damages(eventually society hopes), the insurance companies look into what the maximum rate can be before the policy holder can't afford to pay the increase (regardless of whether it is a high enough rate to cover the impacting event - this is why insurance is a scam due to no way to recover 100% of the damage without pilfering from another citizens pocket, even when the citizen has yet to be born). Therefore, insurance companies don't require self-responsibilit y since they apparently insure the lack thereof. So, if one is self responsible, they won't need insurance .........except that big AND bad big brother government is forcing upon the citizenry all types of insurance whether the individual is self-responsible or not. It becomes darn easy to understand what is concerning folks when it comes to others reaching limitlessly into their pockets, especially since spreading another's lack of self-responsibilit y is so easily selfless on the part of the insurance company, government and the less than responsible citizen who gets bailed out of his or her responsibility from this monetary "shell game" scheme.
