As much as I'd like to believe this, how could this possibly be verified? (Nov 4, 2011 | post #2)
Soft Drink Names - Spokane, WA
I've heard it called soda all up and down the west coast. (Oct 21, 2011 | post #5)
9 teens booted over "I heart bobbies" bracelets
So long as American children of all backgrounds, ethnicities, creeds, etc. are forced to rely on common public education, then it appears to me that the institutions providing this education should be able to limit exposure of children on school premesis to anything not furthering the goal of education. If some parents feel their kids should not have to pray in school, it is legitimate to leave this to the parents and churches outside of school. If some parents feel their kids should not be exposed to culturally akward terms like boobies, then the school ought to fall back to the common denominator here as well. If laws requiring children to be educated were repealed and the responsibility were wholly on the parents, I would say let public schools encourage whatever bizarre practices they wish, for example, have children pray to boobies before class, and let the parent decide if he/she wanted to expose his/her kid to that. Quite the opposite EasyEed. Given my preference, I would see complete discretion over use of alchohol and marijuana given wholly over to the citizens. I am 100% against laws which attempt to protect the people from themselves. That is to say, I am 100% against 90% of the laws in existence. While I am not currently disposed to picket or initiate political reform formally, I am quite willing to voice my opinion in this forum for what it's worth (at least 2 cents). I believe that laws which restrict usage of marijuana and alcohol should be repealed. It may be worth noting that I currently choose to use neither substance myself. (Oct 21, 2011 | post #252)
Police arrest six in Spokane prostitution sting
I strongly agree with VeganTiger's stated positions. My current view is that unneccessary laws should be repealed. This does not mean I intend to eat any of the aforementioned raw treefrogs, but I appreciate having the option so long as it doesn't harm my fellow citizens. (Oct 21, 2011 | post #24)
These definitions seem vague and the statements rather overly empirical. This tends to detract from the credibility of the message. (Oct 21, 2011 | post #249)
It doesn't make sense to outlaw marijuana and not alcohol. (Oct 21, 2011 | post #248)
Mr. Tim John, I respectfully question your "studies " and "statistics. " It seems apparent to me that more people die or are injured as a result of car accidents (a good many of which are due to irresponsible use of vehicles) per year in the U.S. than are killed or injured by firearms (irresponsible use or otherwise). I would rather err on the side of maintaining the rights of citizens to exercise their own personal discretion. I would only see those rights revoked on an individual basis for those who have misused those rights in harmful ways. Basically, it seems fit to enforce existing sensible laws, repeal overly oppressive ones and stop making unneccessary new ones. And of course if valid laws can't be enforced, then the system is failing and I'd rather have my firearm handy so that I might more effectively (and responsibly) protect my own civil liberties in lieu.
