Yes, my parents have an income (retirement + social security). My family and I are healthy. Can you imagine if we got sick? If he health insurance company doesn't drop us (because they can't make a profit on sick people), we could be financially ruined. It had nothing to do with lifestyle choices. Hmm.. I agree, and I don't. My parents are retired. They do not work. Are you saying that they do not deserve health care, especially when they need it the most? For the record, "ObamaCare " is a huge mistake. I do not support it in any way. However, I work, and I pay about $300/month through my employer for health insurance for my family. This is a "minimum " rate, as we are all healthy an under 50. On top of this outrageous premium, I also pay co-pays, around $30 a pop, and I also still have to pay for prescriptions, which is $20/$35. On top of THAT crap, I also have to pay the DIFFERENCE that health care won't pay. I just had minor day surgery, and my total out-of pocket was $255 day of surgery, $20 for meds, and about $120 in office visits (4 at $30/each). I also had to pay the "leftover " for testing, etc. What we NEED is FULL COVERAGE with NO CO-PAYS, and NO POSSIBILITY of dropped or refused coverage. We also NEED for doctors and health care professionals to be certified and accountable. What we DON'T NEED is higher taxes, employers dropping their coverage in favor of a Government Option, rationing, waiting lists, or government bureaucrats deciding our health care options.  (Thursday Nov 19 | post #13)

I have been to Bill's several times. Most of their stuff is fried. It's mainly a "senior citizen" place. No crab legs, no bang-bang shrimp. Besides, the line to get in is long enough as it is. DOW

Everytime I check the DOW and oil prices, when the oil prices start falling down toward where I want to see them, the DOW is down, too. When I notice that the DOW is up, the damn oil prices are up by a dollar or more, too. I want to see the DOW go up about 500+ points, and oil drop about 50-75%.  (Monday Nov 2 | post #1)

Deeds vs. McDonnell

McDonnell is an attorney at the firm of Huff, Poole and Mahoney. Deeds current occupation is that of State Senator. The point is that Deeds understands that it takes more that teachers to make an effective school system. McDonnell wants to make more of the school budget's money go to teachers.
