Pope: Marriage Only Place 'worthy' For Conception

There is already a discussion for this, and the subject for it is the same as this, just a couple down. God bless, Janelle P.  (Feb 25, 2012 | post #2)

Pope: marriage only place 'worthy' for conception

I don't understand how having a baby is selfish and yet not having one is also selfish and wrong. I think this goes along with the Catholic church's history of attempting to permanently guilt its members. I'm a preacher's wife, and until he was assigned a church, we were going to use in vitro. It's been decided by us we should set an example through adoption. My husband's new church doesn't have much money and a lot of members don't have insurance because they can't afford it, so it would be crass using an optional medical procedure (it's not needed to stay alive) when there are some who can't get treatments for things that will kill them. But we don't see it as selfish to want a baby and to use medical treatments. I don't think Benedict would shun medical treatment if he has a medical problem. I think he's just a hypocrite.  (Feb 25, 2012 | post #3)

My husband was a deacon and has been assigned a small church. So we can't continue with in vitro and will be adopting. We have a Lupron kit, 15 Menopurs in 3 boxes of 5, 10 Follistims that are 600IU each, a 10000IU trigger shot, and progesterone suppositories. The pharmacy sealed the progesterone but the bottle otherwise looks like a regular pharmacy bottle, but shrink-wrapped. It's all in the fridge and everything expires August 2013 or later. We paid $6328 out of pocket after what our insurance covered, and hope to get half of that back, but the in vitro won't happen regardless of what we get. So maybe $50 for the Lupron, $100 for each both of Menopur, $300 for each Follistim, and $25 for the trigger? And for anything over $200, we would pay for the overnight shipping, the Menopur and Lupron and trigger don't really have to go overnight because they're not the ones needing fridged. I have a Paypal account, but not anything else. I'm the wife of a preacher man now, and have to set an example of charity and good will, which means adopting a child in need instead, even though it's harder for a couple in our 40s to qualify. We'll just have to pray for guidance. My e-mail is janellepruit@disci ple.com God bless, Janelle P.  (Feb 24, 2012 | post #1)
