Social Security more solvent than most Americans realize
Actually I tend to believe Social Security will remain solvent for quite a while only because many people will find that they cannot AFFORD to retire..... They can't sell their house, their 401k is tanked, and their employer's pension fund is bankrupt....but who knows....just my views..... (Aug 23, 2008 | post #1)
Cabela's cuts back on store openings
Actually that is typical of any company or store.... Unfortunately, when the local gov't entities can no longer get money to pay for the improvements, let alone for current needs, retailers find out the hard way their growth has ended, and will begin to decline....just my views.... Advice to help consumers avoid, manage their credit-card debt
The era of the 401k/IRA and expected returns on stocks is over...... After atrocious fees and taxes (remember the 401k administrator needs his/her cut!), one quickly finds out that a 401k is no longer a good alternative. One invests in overrated funds (provided of course they are still solvent in 20 years), and with basically flat to negative returns. In fact, one finds out they actually lost money. I no longer recommend people have one...just my views.... (Aug 17, 2008 | post #4)

U.S. deaths during July a new low
Not taking away from the individual tragedies with each death, but who couldn't see this coming. An imminent US withdrawal, and the insurgents have to save their ammunition for the upcoming civil war!!! No wonder US troops are dying at a lower rate!!! (Aug 1, 2008 | post #1)
President Bush in Cleveland Tuesday
He outspent them. That's easy. The Soviets couldn't keep up with the likes of our defense programs, and they needed new leadership because their 60's style leadership wasn't cutting it in the 80's. Enter Gorbachev....and the rest is history...just my views... (Jul 29, 2008 | post #122)
