I know this is the second or third time this has been posted. No one seams to realize how wrong it is for the Departmnet of Corrections to just house immates in a motel where ever they want and then give them money for room and board. Meanwhile un suspecting families are staying there with no warnings. I hear it is legal, something to do with a loophole in the law. Want to know what motel? I will be happy to inform you. A sex offender molested my children for many years. They were threatened not to tell or something bad would happen. This person is now in the motel after 8 and a half years. not very long. And the careing department of corrections have always known where I live. They have placed him 3 miles from my home. (Friday Dec 11 | post #1)

I have double checked on this information. The Courtesy Motel has two sex offenders that have just been released from the prison system. The Department of Corrections is presently paying for their room and board,and what ever other expences for up to two months. Then they are required to have jobs at that time and leave the motel. The motel still rents to families with small children. This is one of the websites you can check my information. I typed in no names, just city and county and zip. Michigan Sex Offenders Release
New news since July folks. I have friends the dept of corrections. I have been informed that as of a week or two ago they are houseing two released sex offenders in ottawa county and they are staying at a local motel in ottawa county right under all our noses. Families come and go there also and never know the difference. I am told the dept of cor.does not reckonize the motel as a misuse of the parole regulations. Isnt that convient. Sex Offenders Re-entry Program -PLEASE READ!
After eight and a half years, my X husband is being released early from prison. My children and I are very scared. My son is 25 and daughter is 35 and you can imagin the rest. I called the parole agent to speak with him to see if he could let me know where this man will be going in one week. He said the same county I am in and he will be living in a motel a mile and a half away from my present husband and I. I about died. This cant be. We are so upset they would move him so close to us. He will be there in a week and so will I to see if he is really there. After that,I cant say for sure what I will do. Of course it will be legal and sane. But this has to stop. What Can We Do About The Wave of Released Phedophiles?
So many have been released early by five years or more. Once released, they have not much of a choice of where to go to. Rescue missions are usually for the night only to sleep, and if there are young people there l7 or under they may be turned away. The motel in Grand Rapids houses several and then also invites families with children. Against their own rules! Then the Corrections Dept. admitt this is not the only houseing of them like this in Michigan. That is nice to know. I know a sex offender that has been doing it for nearly 30 years, and after a sentence of 3-16 years, he is being released after 8. One scarry person. Watch your children please. Contact your congressman and who ever you can. This is so out of control. Thease mostly men, go after boys and girls. And have done it to 2year olds and younger.
