Xcel abandons plans to charge ratepayers for perks
OK, let's try to understand what went on here. Xcel is backing off of part of their rate request. That specific part was what was spent on luxurious perks that they really should not be spending money on at all. Yet, all of Xcel's income comes from the citizens that are forced into paying them the high rates they charge. So we should feel good now that they are simply not going to jack us up higher on next year's rates to cover future lavish perks and around the world junkets? This does not make sense. Walser in new bid for Hecker Toyota
Wow, imagine that. Another filthy rich Republi-thug chasing more profits and looking to continue the tradition of Denny in screwing the public. (17 min ago | post #1)
Poll shows shoppers feeling miserly
Every retailer out there should send a "Thank you" note to former Presicent Bushco. It is his fault the economy is so messed up right now. (21 min ago | post #1)
Silva named new superintendent of St. Paul Public Schools
Your claim of being a teacher in the St. Paul School System rings hollow. You are simply a Reubli-thug trying to disguise your hatred of spending money on our most precious resource, our children. (31 min ago | post #46)
Walz, Paulsen push for change in Minn. nuclear law
You are way off base. Cap and Trade is simply a course of action that is sorely needed in this country to lead us towards becoming a Green Nation - something we needed to do 20 years ago. Your Mother, the Earth, will get even with us if we do not heed the warnings of Global Climate Change and alter our polluting ways. This gives us the incentive to be green and rewards those who do good for all of mankind. (37 min ago | post #10)
Obama plan: 34,000 troops to Afghanistan
This is the wrong decision. Our President is being influenced by leftovers from the war regime of Bushco & Friends. Bring all of he troops home now. (40 min ago | post #20)
Credit card delinquencies decrease in third quarter
There is no greater evidence of the rebounding recovery than this article. This is "grass roots" economics. Thank you Mr. Obama for your vision on how to improve our economy, your actions on bringing us out of the years of abuse from Bushco & Friends, and for the fruitful future that you will be bringing to all Americans. October home sales rise 10.1 percent from September
According to this article, home sales hit a low point this past January. Hmmm, I wonder who was President prior to January, and for most of the month of January? Also, according to the article, the most recent numbers represent a 35% GROWTH from the January figures. Hmmm, I wonder who was President during this period of growth? (1 hr ago | post #12)

Exactly. It is because I (and millions of others) say so. (2 hrs ago | post #42)
Catholic bishops flexed muscles on abortion restrictions in hea...
Yep, this is what we have come to in this country. The Catholic Church is now dropping millions of dollars with lobbyists to get their agenda in front of Congress. Are we really ready to have the Catholic Church dictate to our elected officials? What happened to the separation of church & state? (2 hrs ago | post #41)
With a budget mess like this, who'd want to be governor?
This entire budget mess was caused by one person: King Timmy. No one else can claim any responsibility for anything. Just like the national economy and the years of abuse from Bushco & Friends, it will take our next DFL Governor a year or two to clean up what King Timmy did. Let's just be thankful for all of the excellent DFL'ers running for this office that are willing to do the hard work, ask the tough questions, and make the tough decisions that will bring our state back to prosperity. We need a Minnesota version of Mr. Obama to bring life back into the economy of Minnesota. (2 hrs ago | post #7)
Pawlenty won't rule out spending cuts
King Timmy flies home in his luxury private jet long enough to say "I'm going to cut more money from the budgets." Gee, thanks. All of the homeless, hungry, and sick people in Minnesota really are going to have a good Thanksgiving, aren't they? (2 hrs ago | post #46)
Minnesota Vikings owner Wilf goes straight to legislators
St Paul is a magnificent example to set in front of the citizens of Minnesota. The have a hockey arena that they recently asked the State to forgive the repayment obligation on. They also have a very, very minor league baseball team that they want the State to give $25 MILLION dollars to help build a stadium when they already have one than can be renovated for less than $1 million. Yeah, let's listen to the guy who says that St. Paul is a shining light when looking at fiscal responsibility. Give me a break. If the Vi-Queens want a new stadium, they need to find a way to build it with private funding and no tax payer dollars. (2 hrs ago | post #202)
Anoka-Hennepin Schools / New vote brings the same closures for ...
This is a great example of what is wrong with our state in recent years. King Timmy sits in his high and mighty chair and cuts funding across the board. Our children - the most precious resource that this state has - get short changed again due to a lack of funding. When will we get smart and change how we do this. If money is needed to help our children, they get it. No arguments, no discussion. The children get the money. Every other pet project of the Republi-thugs that bow doen to King Timmy should get a back seat to funding the education of our children. (3 hrs ago | post #1)
Man won't be charged in fight among UND-Minnesota hockey fans
This type of incident does not ever happen outside of the Guthrie Theater. But it does at hockey games. 1. Do not sell beer or bozze to the idiots that attend hockey games. 2. If this behavior happens again, shut down that arena or team for a season. Simple solution to a stupid problem. (3 hrs ago | post #2)
