Infant's death shows gaps in care licensing
I have 3 daughters. My oldest is 4 and goes to a licensed child care and loves it. My twins go to a in home only for a few hours in the evening when my husband has to leave for work. So I have both worlds. I do my research on all the facilities and also do background checks. Your child is never 100% safe. So there is no answer to say which is safer or better. You just have to research till you can research no more. My 4 year old has been in licensed child cares since she was 1. She is on her 3 one. The first one shut down. and the 2nd one I pulled her from cause I had horrible feelings every time I dropped her off and I hated the way the place was ran. Dirty, over crowded and ZERO security. Now the place she is at is wonderful. She is learning so much and they have an awesome Pre-School program as well. Just have to go with your maternal instincts. (Monday Jul 21 | post #3)
So in 2006 my now ex husband and I went and got out taxes done at your local Arnold HR branch. The person that did our taxes messed up on the easiest little line item that is now costing me and my ex $674.00... When I called HR Block after receiving my CP2000, they researched and admitted fault. There preparer Mary didn’t correctly enter in all the information. $263.00 to do the taxes incorrectly and in the end costing me an additional 674.00 Nice hu! They so nicely offered to pay for the interest... but said the rest is up to me. She didn’t even seem sorry or apologetic. She just said well maybe you should pay the extra money for the "Peace of Mind" Are you flipping kidding me.... I am not paying 300.00 for a short form tax paper, just to cover YOUR employees butt... No wonder why they got audited. THEY ARE STUPID MORONS! So when 2008 tax season rolls around please avoid HR block. They are over priced and careless with your paper! (Wednesday Jul 16 | post #1)

My husband has found a new job and so have most of the other employees there. 54th is over staffed. They have plenty. I know many have applied there including my husband. He is looking for management in the kitchen. We do have a Texas Road house coming into Arnold as well. So maybe there will be a nice management spot there for him.The only reason I am very unhappy with this new Arnold Commons is it keeps taking from my family. My daughter attended the Around the World Daycare that was there. and then 54th street takes a ton of business. Its just never ending. But thank you all for your warm wishes and if you have any questions please post and ask. I know there are many up in arms over all these changes (May 21, 2008 | post #16)
My husband was a cook at Kriegers in Arnold. They were not notified that they were getting shut down till that day. None of the employees at the Arnold location nor the other store have received there last check. The owner who's name I will not mention is filing bankruptcy. My husband and I have kids we cant afford for one of us to be out of a job and have no idea how this person can sleep at night. He put a small handful of people out on there butts without so much as a warning. Most of the crew was young and had no problems finding something else. Others were transferred to other stores with a pay cut and a farther drive. So in answer to your questions yes Arnold Kriegers is permanently closed down. To the bar tenders, hosts, waiters, waitresses, management and cooks, I wish you all the best of luck! Revised! (May 20, 2008 | post #13)
