Monongahela Mayor Cole tries write-in campaign
Up the Creek, you really don't know the whole story pertaining to the Tea Room. As stated before, I don't know the ex mayor personally, but I do know the son and his wife. They actually video taped every meeting that they went to on getting the zoning updated. You (and everyone else) might have a different opinion on that subject if you saw the tapes. And again, Resident, you are making total sense with your comments. The only thing different now is that Caudil, Kepics, and Doty don't have to hold the real council meetings at McDonalds anymore :). Kepics hasn't done anything ground breaking yet....give a person a rope and they can either make a ladder or hang themselves...time will tell. (Mar 17, 2008 | post #49)

You sound like a pretty level headed individulal, Resident. I am not a fan of the anonymity of the internet for issues like this, but at least it is an outlet for dialog. I appreciate that you stressed that you were TOLD, but never confirmed what you were told. Far to many times people believe everything they hear without even an ounce of proof to back it up. My belief is unless you heard it from the person in question, then don't believe it. Anyway, have a great day :) (Mar 11, 2008 | post #44)

Well stated and I agree with you (about the drug problem). And it is no secret that Jim McCune didn't like the old mayor. So I doubt that Cole was doing any favors for him. The drug problem is a huge issue. I find it terrible that one of the first comments out of the new police chief is "every town has a drug problem" (heard that with my own ears). His first action as chief is to enforce the 10 o'clock curfew? Give me a break. And as for the new mayor, well if you think that cole and mendicino were bad, wait until these two show their true colors. Campaign promises are one thing, keeping them is another. From Concerned Business Owner “Ex-Mayor Cole and his son took confiscated poker machines and put them in his son's new business, a "Tea House" up at the Mounds. How can someone say that Cole didn't get what he deserved. Hey Goody Two Shoes, opps, I mean Concerned Business Owner, check you facts before you put them in writing. I know A LOT of people in this town that know a lot of people that know a lot of people, etc...I'm not best friends with the (younger) Coles, but I can tell you with 100% accuracy that they never put confiscated anything in their house. My son has been over their house and he told me about the Pac-Man type video game machine in their garage. So unless my son is lying to me and acutally won some money on a poker machine at their house, I would just have to say that your post is laughable. Concentrate on the real issues at hand and work on making this a better community for the next generation. (Mar 9, 2008 | post #40)
