A great place to get a hair cut is Kay's Barbershop on 190 in Cove. She and the other Barbers cut your hair just like you want it. They are always polite and cheerful. By the way they also have appointments.  (Wednesday Jul 16 | post #78)

If we don't have enough full time code enforcers, as we don't according to the city, then we need to do something even if we have to step on a few toes. The rules could be written in such a way to protect the offending people. I hope this still falls with in being positive.  (Wednesday Jul 16 | post #77)

The bad thing is if a building is old, an added cost for asbestos and lead removal is realized. Almost all buildings built before 1975 have lead base paint.  (Tuesday Jul 15 | post #33)

A way to make our City a little more pleasing to the eye could be accomplished by more people volunteering to inspect assigned areas through out the City. Something like block Captains. Reports could be sent to the city for action. This would help the code enforcement people that could put a little more bite in the action. Pictures could be taken and sent via the Internet along with the report.  (Monday Jul 14 | post #71)

A new bank building for the First National. Things are looking up. I don't know who is doing or paying for the work but the Spec Building area is also looking up. I know Walmart is temporarily storing things there. At least the EDC is getting a little money back.  (Monday Jul 14 | post #70)

One Thing Is Becoming Very Clear Now

Everyone has forgot or wants to forget about this area because it's an older area of the city. We sure hear about the other schools getting side walks because the children cant walk on the dirt because it is a hazard. I'm glad I don't have children who go to this school because I would not let the city forget. Pay more Taxes? I don't think so.  (Saturday Jul 12 | post #40)

They can wait a few months. We been waiting for 30 years for a sidewalk along Fm 116 South. The kids going to that school are not important enough to walk on a side walk.  (Saturday Jul 12 | post #37)
