BOAT DECAL/TAX SPECIAL MEETING OCT 2, 3:00 p.m.
once again, can't please everyone.... I agree with Larry (did I say that?) it should go on the ballot in November and let the people, those who are not too lazy to vote, decide. (Friday Oct 3 | post #10)
What Events Would You Like To See On Town Hill?
Chamber's web site has all the eents and they are also advertised 95.9 www.colonialbeach. org (Saturday Sep 20 | post #17)
Speed limit change sought in Pulaski
25 MPH is just fine if the drivers would do it and not faster or slower and drive like they had some sense. Golf carters should just pull over, in a safe area, so that cars can get past them. Simple solutions. (Wednesday Sep 17 | post #5)
AND annonamous, can't even spell Anonymous! Makes you wonder.....just another rumor, I hope so! (Tuesday Sep 16 | post #3)
Keeping our town safe if very important and Steve Kennedy has tried very hard to keep people informed. He and the other council members are human just like the most of us and they feel the frustration for all of us. But yet there are those VERY few that have the need to stir the pot and always, always have a negative attitude no matter what. Our council has to deal with these nuts on a daily basis, no matter where they are or what they are doing. (Thursday Sep 11 | post #18)
To crazy people live here. Why stay? Get the hell out NOW! We certainly don't need any more naysayers like you. (Saturday Sep 6 | post #9)
Nightwather, obviously you were not here during Isabel. It is always better to be safe than sorry. We lucked out with Hanna and I sure hope that Ike and the others just go away. (Saturday Sep 6 | post #10)
Betsy & Bad Grammar, sorry - I didn't mean to sound angry or corrective - just trying to keep some things correct. You know what I mean. Just like the "200 tires slashed" - there were acutally 15 reports of tires slashed. (Sep 5, 2008 | post #12)
I agree! The kids finally get an extra curricular activity and they try to take it away. BECAUSE they let 3 people skate with more money then they should have. This once again tells the kids if they aren't sports oriented then the heck with them. The little band was progressly so well. (Sep 5, 2008 | post #3)
Betsy, 1st of all, it is TIM not TED. And whomever used Val's name as their own, well that's just not right..... Val is a wonderfully intelligent and people loving person. Give her a chance! (Sep 4, 2008 | post #9)
Is this is what it takes to FINALLY get parents involved in their children and their children's education? The parents are the ones that need to be there and help make the decisions! (Aug 26, 2008 | post #3)
Hawkins is the best thing since sliced bread for the town of CB. We need to get on with the times and for a small town the Chief has done a wonderful job. Just getting his police dept to work together as a real team is wonderful. Liking your job is very important.... do you like your job? (Aug 22, 2008 | post #34)
What happened to the Town Manager?
People! Get a life! You don't know what came down during the last 9 (?) months. If 5 of the 6 council people voted to get rid of the town manager there must have been a good reason. Karen Payne's husband WORKS for Public Works, so what does that say? (Aug 22, 2008 | post #15)
Chamber of Commerce Expanding Its Events
Did any of the complainers above bother to call the chamber and ask questions? The chamber puts on or provides the insurance for most of the events that happen in town. Originally the CB Yacht Club was going to have the Dog Days on the point beach and the chamber would cover the liability. BUT they changed it and the yacht/boat clubs changed the venue to Dockside. So good for them if it brought in more peeps to town and they spent their money here. That is what tourism is about. So having a Volunteer Event Coordinator would handle all those events that are NOT the chamber normal activities which are the Potomac River Festival, Beach Ball, Boardwalk Arts & Crafts, Rockfish Tournament, & The Halloween Golf Cart Parade. So volunteer, get involved, and STOP complaining! (Aug 16, 2008 | post #25)
