Jamfest a huge failure

"The poor attendance to this MOE.Down wanna-be proves that VERY FEW PEOPLE from this area actually like the music......." Um.. Maybe they like different music then what was at the festival. My example was perfect. You tried taking two variables and correlating them incorrectly, as my example did. Common mistake.  (Sep 10, 2010 | post #29)

Yup, just like higher icecream sales and higher crime rates during the summer means that icecream causes people to commit crimes. Perfect logic. If A is correlated to B and C, then C is correlated to B. (Hint - It does not work that way)  (Sep 9, 2010 | post #22)

Most festivals are higher in price, but that is because there are so many bands are playing.= It is a once a year thing, save up, and enjoy.  (Sep 8, 2010 | post #20)

Everyone has their opinion and perspective, but their were more than local bands, and its about the same price you will pay at any festival. Band members were also around during Jam fest.  (Sep 2, 2010 | post #16)

Drugs tests for those on welfare

I am not worried about proving a point, I am not going to change your mind on this site. You lack of understanding of the situation, but willingness to throw your ill-educated opinion around says enough. will be rude representing the truth, you can be polite and be wrong. The presentation part of it is not what is ruining the country, it is the follow through. If we cared less about testing for minor drugs like weed, and more about actual problems (horrendous pharmaceutical industry) maybe things would change. But hey, ignorance seems to be your go to, so why change now. I implore you to do some research on the subject at hand, and if you actually find anything to the contrary of what I have said, please present it. The more likely scenario, you study up and learn something.  (Sep 1, 2010 | post #47)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if that is what you think is best, than yes, you are an idiot. Not because you do not agree with me, but because you are not smart enough to see the real problem, and you want to stop it at the end of the trail, rather then the beginning. You want to waste more money on something that is not even proven effective. So, unlike you, when you say you considered the facts, I actually have. I also already considered the fact that some people consider the wrong things, ever consider that?? Seriously, you are an idiot. Change how you think, or sink.  (Sep 1, 2010 | post #45)

Drugs tests for those on welfare

Sad - Asking people to know what they are talking about is a big stretch. They would rather just breath ignorance. They can not even see how ridiculously expensive, and probably pointless it would be to drug test people on assistance. To the hard working geniuses out there, who pays for the tests? Who pays for the people administering the tests? Labs techs checking the samples, who pays for them? Who pays to check over the results, and determine who is not eligible? YOU DO GENIUSES! Please think before you type, or at least try to.  (Sep 1, 2010 | post #43)

Perhaps that was part of the problem, local promotion. And, I am around the area quite a bit, (outside of Lowville) and I saw very little promotion. A few spots in paper, and on radio, but that is about it. As for bands, unprofessional it might be, but perhaps they were also thrown off by lack of crowds. Who knows, sounds like there is a possibility of it being done. I am just saying, IMO, it could have been done better.  (Sep 1, 2010 | post #14)

I blame the lady that "runs," Snow Ridge. Horrible attitude, and I know first hand. As it were, the bands at this years fest were better overall, than just about any Moe.Down, there was more going on, better food, better facilities, pretty much better everything, just no one showed up.  (Aug 31, 2010 | post #8)

This is a big deal, but super complex, and I am not sure how to fix it. Maybe someone much smarter than I. I do know, somewhere along the way, something broke. Or, maybe there is simply too many people on the planet for any system to work. I am not sure. The whole drug testing situation is on the wrong end of the problem. If someone is abusing drugs and endangering people, that needs to stop, but maybe finding out why people are abusing drugs, or what is making it easier, better, more financially and family stable, to stay riding the system than finding good employment. I do know, if everyone was on the straight and narrow, there would not be enough jobs to fill the need. Very complex stuff here, IMO.  (Aug 30, 2010 | post #35)
