Suicide is painless (for some) ... it brings on many profits
"They are so full of hate or jealousy they want to leave a message. ''See how you have hurt me?'' is their mantra. ''You've done me dirt so much I'm going to kill myself.'' I'm convinced their minds are filled with such perverse ''You'll be sorry'' fantasies that the lust for remorse in others overcomes the instinct for survival in themselves." This article has been bothering me all day. I cannot agree with your opinion that people commit suicide to punish those who love them. Many times, the victim is not even thinking about other people. They see suicide as the only way to ease their physical or emotional pain, real or imagined. This column is hurtful to families that have struggled with the pain of losing someone to suicide. I read the same article you did about the "Out of Darkness" walk and felt nothing but sadness for these families. (Yesterday | post #2)
Conn. parents arrested in 2-year-old son's shooting death; boy ...
"His mother had told him to stay away from the gun moments before the accident, warning him that it was "Bad boo boo's," according to a police report." This is the part of the story that I'm having trouble with. So the mom knew he was near the gun "moments before," yet did nothing to move the gun out of his reach? This is way past carelessness; this is plain old stupidity. (Tuesday | post #6)
Sign was stolen, 'trash' was left behind
You're on to him -- Sen. Obama sneaks around at night removing all McCain signs, and replacing them with his own! Seriously, this sounds like a neighborhood prank. Check with your Obama-supporting neighbors, I'll bet your sign is on their lawn. (Tuesday | post #6)
You have just proven yourself to be a bigot. Thanks for clearing that up. I guess you can't help being an idiot. (Monday Oct 13 | post #189)
We now have them where we want them.....ahead in the polls by double digits." (Monday Oct 13 | post #187)
Agreed, and add to the moron pool anyone voting based on a single issue. (Monday Oct 13 | post #115)
In addition to being a veteran, mother, and grandmother, as you trumpet in another post, you are also a bigot. You would disown your own children for voting for Obama? That's insane. I'd rather my children were interested enough to do the research and vote for whomever they think is the best candidate, and not just follow mommy and daddy. (Monday Oct 13 | post #114)
You didn't read the entire article, did you? You have read past the headlines in the Mcall to get the whole story. "Broadly speaking, America's Catholic bishops have instructed the flock this way: Voting for a candidate because the candidate supports an ''intrinsic evil'' such as abortion or racism constitutes formal cooperation with evil. On the other hand, voting for a candidate who opposes abortion but is indifferent to other social evils is irresponsible. In a document called ''Faithful Citizenship,'' the bishops say a Catholic who rejects a candidate's position on an evil such as abortion ''may decide to vote for that candidate for other morally grave reasons. Voting in this way would be permissible only for truly grave moral reasons, not to advance narrow interests or partisan preferences or to ignore a fundamental moral evil.'" You need to give this a rest. The closed churches will not be reopened. The collection basket at my church has grown as we welcomed people from closed parishes. (Monday Oct 13 | post #33)
Pa. voters lack confidence in Palin, poll finds
If you're saying the job description is the Constitution, who better to be President than a civil rights lawyer and an expert in constitutional law? (Friday Oct 10 | post #81)
Palin gets rock-star reception in Bethlehem
He got in and graduated because of his father and grandfather. Otherwise he would have been tossed from the academy well before graduation. She went to....how many, 6 different colleges? (Thursday Oct 9 | post #126)
Palin gets rock-star reception in Bethlehem
I think your percentage if off. The fact checkers already blasted her on that one -- it's actually closer to 12%. (Thursday Oct 9 | post #124)
Local GOP chief takes heat for use of 'Hussein'
"Unbelievable how they follow this fake and fraud as he speaks clearly but says nothing." Good point about McCain. "cancer survivor just adds to his life experience" It may well add to his death experience, and much sooner than you think. (Thursday Oct 9 | post #237)
Palin gets rock-star reception in Bethlehem
"I'll try to find you some and I'll bring them to you." Actually, what she said was: "I'll try to find ya some and I'll bring 'em to ya." (Thursday Oct 9 | post #96)
Palin gets rock-star reception in Bethlehem
What specifically do you love about her, and what has she done to earn your high regard? We don't need a VP who can light up the room with a smile. Although Joe Biden has some nice choppers, too. (Thursday Oct 9 | post #95)
