I am english with dual nationality and I have run workshops for abused women,they do exist in Egypt and are allowed to exist as long as nothing is printed or broadcasted,help can and is given to abused women but it is very hard to find the places to go as many women are afraid of bringing shame on their families,many women cannot just get up and leave because if they do they have no support from their husbands,no income,hence no food,clothing for the children,so they stay,its not their choice because they have no choice.for the people that are wondering my dual nationality is English/Egyptian married for 35 years to Egyptian,my sons are English/Egyptian,their partners are Egyptian and my beautifull grandchildren are Egyptian oh and also we are muslim but have managed to follow islam and combine it with our western values with out comprimising the two (Apr 23, 2012 | post #1424)

I to live in Hurghada,I have been very happily married to an Egyptian for more than 10 years and have seen Hurghada go from good to bad,its not just the western women and the way they dress some of the young Egyptian guys that you see on the beaches are practically rashes on their girlfriends bodies.They would not be able to get away with it in their home towns but they think that when they go to sharm or Hurghada its a different set of rules,Islam applies where ever you live and people need to realise that Egypt is an Islamic country enjoy your self by all means but remeber that away from the beaches and hotels there are also many respectable people working who follow Islam and are not impressed at seeing scantily clad women and their own fellow egyptians behaving like they live in a western country,respect the country you live in and the country will respect you.
